That brings an end to our coverage of this game. Do switch tabs as Perth Scorchers Women are hosting Sydney Sixers Women. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Pritam Dey and scorer Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. Until next time, cheers and good bye.
Danielle Wyatt-Hodge (Player of the Match): "Yeah, it's always a really nice wicket here in AB field. I felt good from ball one against Shabs (Shabnim Ismail). Batting against the pacers was a lot easier than the spinners. It was a tricky wicket so I just capitalized on anything too full or too short. It's T20 cricket, so I was just trying to back my strengths and it was really good batting out there with Nick (Nicola Carey).
We arrived in Australia 5 days ago. So, we didn't have much prep. We have played here a lot. We are quite familiar with these conditions. It was really good to get that win.
It's very hot and humid here in Brisbane. I love playing under the heat. Hopefully, there will be some sun in Hobart as well."

3:15 PM IST, 7:45 PM Local Time: That’s it. Hobart Hurricanes pull off their highest successful run-chase in Women’s Big Bash League. On the back of a record partnership between Danielle Wyatt-Hodge and Nicola Carey, they chase down 182 with six wickets in hand with three balls to spare. Sydney Thunder Women weren't at their best with the ball and fail to defend a formidable total.
The Thunder Women started well with the ball while defending 182. They dismissed Lzelle Lee (13) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (4) inside the powerplay. Danielle Wyatt-Hodge and Nicola Carey led the recovery work. The Thunder bowlers kept things tight as the scoreboard read 78/2 at the halfway mark. Wyatt-Hodge brought up her fifty off 33 balls after getting a life on 45 in the 11th over.
Both Wyatt-Hodge and Carey stepped on the accelerator post the drinks break and the runs started to flow for them. Carey raced past her fifty in just 32 balls as the stand grew past 100. Wyatt-Hodge played some beautiful strokes and scored 90 off 52 balls before getting dismissed in the 18th over. The game went down to the wire but Carey held her nerves and remained unbeaten on 58 to guide her side across the line with three balls to spare.
The Hurricanes Women elected to bowl first but failed to strike with the new ball as the Thunder openers Tahlia Wilson (22) and Georgia Voll (15) raised a fifty-run stand. The Hurricanes pulled back things by dismissing both the openers and skipper Phoebe Litchfield (16) in a quick succession. Heather Knight and Chamari Athapaththu (32) stitched a good 45-run stand before the latter fell.
The platform was laid for a strong finish. Laura Harris played a sensational cameo of 20 off seven before departing in the 17th over. Knight top-scored with 39 for Thunder and Anika Learoyd remained unbeaten on 11 as the Thunder Women finished their innings on 181/8. Hayley Silver-Holmes (2/27) and Heather Graham (2/33) picked up two wickets each for the Hurricanes Women.

Athapaththu bowls a wide. Scores level!! Just 1 required from 4 now.
