Milestone
That is it from a typical ODI game in Mirpur, with Bangladesh spinning their way to a thumping 74-run win over West Indies, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Rishad Hossain's magical spell has dismantled the tourists after they were looking good to do the unthinkable on a minefield at Shere Bangla National Stadium. Plenty more action is coming up on Super Sunday, with both the Indian men's and women's teams taking the field in the 50-over format across different parts of the world.

For now, this is me, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my colleagues Anirudh Modi, Manan Mehta, Saptak Sanyal, Dushyant Madhukar Kumar and Aman. We will meet again. Until then, it is cheers!

Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Bangladesh Captain): "We didn’t play well in the previous matches, and this was an important game for us. We’ve been playing a lot of T20 series lately, but not many ODI series, so it was a good opportunity for us.

Shanto and Hridoy batted really well in the middle, and the debutant Mahidul Islam Ankon showed great composure in this situation.

Yes, definitely — this might be our last series of the year, but hopefully, we’ll have more coming up next year.

We’ve discussed a lot of things as a team — we need to play positively and focus on putting runs on the board. If we can do that consistently, we’ll have a good chance to win more matches."
Rishad Hossain (POTM): "Thanks to the almighty that I have contributed to the team's victory. My focus was on keeping the patience. They were really bowling well. So we kept the patience. Even when they were batting well, playing their shots, we kept our patience while bowling.

We, the eleven guys had the belief in ourselves. I think the credit goes to the good team selection."
Player of the Match: Rishad Hossain
Shai Hope (West Indies Captain)"It was a tough one. We had the challenges as batter on that surface. The runs were stopped at a time as they bowled really well in the middle over period. We have to put this one behind. It is all about taking the learnings from this one and coming back stronger next game.

The surface was a bit tough. On a surface like that, you are never really in. Our start was a commendable one. Specially it is important for the openers to set the tone. We got a good foundation and we had to continue that. it is a good learning for us that we shouldn't lose the momentum. We will be looking for a turn around in two days time.

I think we have to just assess the conditions and adapt as quickly as we can for the next game and find the ways to beat Bangladesh."
