South Africa's trip to Pakistan this year has felt like a boxing match where both sides have continuously exchanged some fierce jabs. The Test series was squared up 1-1, while the hosts bounced back from a comprehensive loss in the first T20I to register emphatic wins in the next two. After today's result, even the ODI series is levelled.
So, it will be all to play for on Saturday, November 8, when these two teams meet again for the decider. Our coverage for the same will begin at 2:30 PM IST, 2:00 PM local time. Till then, it is Darpan Tikiya saying goodbye on the behalf of Pritam Dey, Anirudh Modi,Yogesh Kumar and Aman. See you soon!
Matthew Breetzke (South Africa Captain): "Clinical all-round for us. Credit goes to Nandre up top for us with the ball. Also credit goes to Quinny, Lhuan & Tony.
Well, we set very high standards for ourselves. Our fielding has been really good and we try to improve in every single game. Donovan took a fabulous catch today.
Nandre is a top bowler. He gave us early breakthroughs. He is lethal with the new ball if he gets some rhythm. Really happy for him."
Yeah, now we are looking forward to the next game. Hopefully, we can come out on top in the decider."
Shaheen Afridi (Pakistan captain): "I think Saim and Agha played really well. Their partnership helped us stabilised. We lost three wickets early, after which we thought 270 will be a good score. But we dropped three catches. We will come back well. We will be stronger in the next game."
Quinton de Kock (Player of the Match): "Well, that's a hell of a stat. (Every time he scores 50+, South Africa win.) Thanks for letting me know. I think we played really well today. Nandre & Corbin set the tone early for us. They ended up with a decent total but we just needed to bat really well to chase it down.
I set very high standards for himself. I look at the mirror and set new goals for myself. It's a new team, new faces and everyone is doing really well.
I think the youngsters are doing really well. Tony (de Zorzi) was nice and clinical in the middle. He was taking majority of the strike as he was looking really good in the middle."
