Milestone
12:31 PM IST, 12:01 PM Local Time: That will be Lunch on Day 3. An enthralling session this one. Pakistan picked up four wickets in the morning session of the moving day but the ninth-wicket pair has frustrated them. Senuran Muthusamy and Keshav Maharaj have put 50 between them so far as South Africa are 285/8, trailing by only 48 runs. The hosts will rue the missed chances as they fail to wrap up the South African tail.

Pakistan got an immediate success on the moving day. Asif Afridi dismissed Kyle Verreynne on 10 on the fourth ball. Senuran Muthusamy joined Tristan Stubbs who looked well-composed at the crease. Both kept ticking the scoreboard before Asif broke the partnership by trapping Stubbs right in front of the stumps on 76.

Asif dismissed Simon Harmer cheaply on two to pick up a fifer on debut, becoming only the second left-arm spinner from Pakistan to get to the milestone. Marco Jansen walked in at number nine and started building a partnership along with Muthusamy. Pakistan opted for the second new ball straightaway.

Noman Ali was introduced for the first time on the moving day and he struck straightaway, dismissing Jansen on 12. In walked Keshav Maharaj and he got a life on six as Imam-ul-Haq dropped one at silly point. Maharaj got two more lives on 10 as the hosts looked a bit sloppy at the back end of the first session.

To make matters worse for Pakistan, Agha Salman dropped a tough chance of Muthusamy while he was on 45. The pair of Muthusamy and Maharaj raised a 50-run stand for the ninth wicket as the frustration continued for the hosts. Muthusamy and Maharaj remained unbeaten on 48 and 23 respectively till lunch as the Proteas ended the morning session on 285/8, trailing by 48 runs.

Muthusamy and Maharaj have done a fine job so far with the bat and will be looking to carry it forward post the lunch break. Pakistan will have to regroup during this break and come up with better plans to break this stand. Do join us in around 40 minutes for the afternoon session.
