And that is a wrap-up from this match. Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentator Saptak Sanyal and scorer Yogesh Kumar. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. But cricket doesn’t sleep. Plenty is happening around the world. Switch tabs, follow the fun. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!
Piyush Chawla (Player of the Match): "I think the love for the game. Because when I started playing I never thought that it is going t be my profession. I started because I loved it. That's what keeps me going.

Wrong'uns come naturally to me so I don't work much on that. I work more on my leggie. I am just trying to use the different angles and getting my bowling arm little more sideways to create that extra bit of doubt in batter's mind.

I am not that guy who will be able to hit sixes like Dre Russ at will. I am coming from an injury too. So Super-sub is okay for me. I am loving it here."
Player of the Match: Piyush Chawla
Jason Holder (ADKR Captain): "It was good to get over the line, and full credit to the boys for the way we played. We didn’t get off to the ideal start with the ball, as they started pretty well, but we kept our composure and knew things could change if we stuck to our plans.

The middle overs were absolutely crucial for us. At one stage, they were going along quite comfortably, and it was important for us to break those partnerships.

Credit to Piyush and the other spinners - I thought they bowled really well and applied pressure from both ends, which turned the game in our favour. Everyone chipped in with contributions, and that’s always pleasing as a captain.

It wasn’t about one individual today, as it was a proper team performance. As for the chase, there are always nerves when you’re going after a target. That’s part of the game. But the boys held their nerve really well and stayed calm under pressure, which helped us get back-to-back wins."
James Vince (Gulf Giants Captain): "Possibly 20-30 more would have helped us. 190-200 is what we were looking for. They got a good start to the chase. Unfortunately we weren't able to get over the line. Extra 30 runs and the pressure on them would have been a bit higher. Shamsi did a great job by taking the wickets.

I think the start they got off to was crucial. After that Shamsi came on and took the wickets. Couple of mistakes cost us. Not ideal but as I say that mistakes cost us."
Time for the post-match presentations.
11:35 PM IST, 10:05 PM LOCAL TIME: From desert calm to purple thunder - control first, chaos later, and composure at the end. How did this contest finally shape up for both sides? Abu Dhabi Knight Riders win by four wickets. With four balls to spare. A chase that wobbled. A defense that teased. Gulf Giants posted 165/7. Competitive. But just short. ADKR were clinical early. Then nervy. Then decisive. The Giants fought back hard in the second half. Late wickets. Reviews. Drama. But Andre Russell had the last word. A six. Game. Set. Match.

Earlier in the match, what set the tone for the Giants’ innings after being sent in? Intent. Straight away. Gurbaz and Nissanka didn’t waste time. Boundaries flowed. Powerplay yield? 59 runs for one wicket. Healthy. Nissanka chipped in with 17 off 12. Gurbaz looked in sublime touch. Clean swings. Flat sixes. The Giants reached 81/2 at the drinks break. Momentum was theirs. But partnerships didn’t last long enough.

Who stood tall when others fell around him? Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Clearly. 72 off 45. Four fours. Five sixes. A lone warrior. Vince and Moeen added brief cameos of 16 each. But no one crossed 20 beyond Gurbaz. Once he fell at 131/4, the innings lost its spine. And then came the wobble. Three wickets in three balls. Collapse threatened. Control slipped.

How did the Knight Riders pull things back with the ball? Spin. Craft. Experience. Piyush Chawla turned the clock back. 4 for 27. Massive. He removed Vince. Moeen. Omarzai. And Forde. Narine kept things tight. Holder chipped in. Ajay Kumar struck too. From 112/2 to 143/7. That phase changed the innings. Giants scrambled to 165. Respectable. But chaseable.

How smooth was the Knight Riders’ start in reply? Very. Salt and Hales came blazing. No hesitation. Powerplay score? 53 without loss. Run rate close to nine. Salt was fluent. Hales steady. The opening stand crossed fifty in 33 balls. Control firmly with ADKR. Giants needed a spark. Enter Tabraiz Shamsi.

What brought the Giants back into the contest? Shamsi’s magic. Three wickets. One spell. Salt outfoxed. Livingstone stumped. Sharafu gone. Suddenly, brakes applied. Hales slowed a touch. Rutherford took time. At 128/4 after 15.2 overs, the game tilted. Giants sensed hope. Reviews added spice. Pressure climbed. Required rate crept up. The crowd leaned in.

Why did the final overs turn so dramatic? Because wickets kept falling. Hales fell for 46. Rutherford soon after for 30. Holder departed. Equation time. 39 needed off 30. Then 14 off 12. Forde leaked runs. Russell cashed in. A six at the end of the 18th over eased nerves. Still not done. Still tense.

How did it finally end, and what does it mean going forward? Andre Russell. Calm. Powerful. Unmoved. Seven needed in the final over. One swing. One six. Finish line crossed. ADKR to 167/6 in 19.2 overs.
