That's it from an exciting encounter in the International League T20! Sikandar Raza's Sharjah Warriorz open their account with 2 crucial points! MI Emirates think tank will have to plan better to make a strong comeback in the league. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshaya Krishna Polya, scorer Yogesh Kumar and statistician Aman. Stay tuned for more action from around the world!
Sikandar Raza (Sharjah Warriorz Captain and Player of the Match): "We were very confident going into this game as we were before every other game. But the last 2 games we just lost it so we knew that we are there and there about. We needed a bit more clarity and courage and the way we've gone about our business today, it was a good performance.

[Charles's innings] TKC and Johno both did really well. The role that TKC played with Johno was very crucial. The feedback we got was that it's a slow wicket so it's not really one of those 195-200 sort of a wicket if you push too much you could be looking at 160 which is below par. We actually ended up saying that 170-175 could be par. Looking at the scoreboard now and winning the game by 6 runs, I think we got that pretty alright.

[on his performance] It's always nice but when the team wins then everything is a lot more better. It's nice that I managed to contribute but most importantly the fact that we crossed the line. A crunch game, an important game for us in the bigger scheme of things and I'm really glad with that win.

[on Junaid Siddique's double wicket over] He kept asking that "am I coming on?" and I just kept telling him that he's allowed to bowl as soon as he comes so just not yet. That shows his courage and the character he has. He's a true warrior, a true fighter and that match changing catch by TKC certainly helped. I didn't think that we were really up to the mark in the field but when TKC pulled that catch then I thought it really lifted everybody and we needed that little bit of magic on the field."
Player of the Match: Sikandar Raza
Kieron Pollard (MI Emirates Captain): "It was a good score. I have no qualms about them making around 175. We got a very good start and it was a game that we should have finished. After soaking up so many dot balls we should have pushed on. We need to chat about it. The 7-15 phase, we have been the slowest in the tournament in that. Something to look at but it's not all done for us. Cricket is a very subtle game where you just need certain tweaks."
7:17 PM IST, 5:47 PM Local Time: The Sharjah Warriorz squeeze a tight game and emerge victorious by 6 runs against a star studded MI Emirates side in match number 14 of the ILT20 2025!

MIE won the toss and invited Sharjah to bat first. Johnson Charles hit 77 off 53 deliveries to help the side register 174/3 in 20 overs. Rashid Khan (1/22) and Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar (1/27) bowled economic spells for the Emirates.

In response, impact sub Jonny Bairstow (31 off 23) and Muhammad Waseem (44 off 29) got the Emirates for a good start adding 68 for the first wicket. Nicholas Pooran at number 3 struggled to time the ball as wickets continued to fall around him.

Tom Banton (11 off 14), Kieron Pollard (1 off 4) and Romario Shepherd (2 off 3) failed to make any impact with the bat. Tajinder Singh smashed 24 in 13 balls with 2 fours and a maximum but retired hurt as he was limping at the fag end.

Rashid Khan replaced him at the crease but Pooran farmed the strike smashing 3 of his 4 sixes in the final over when 25 runs were required against Junaid Siddique but fell short of the target and also his half century by 2 runs.

Skipper Sikandar Raza (2/15) was the pick of the bowlers to dismiss both the set openers. Siddique held his nerve and delivered the goods with 2/35. This is the Warriorz's first victory of the season but they remain out of the top 4 as of now. MI Emirates with their 2 early wins hold to the number 4 slot.
