Player of the Match: Himanshu Mantri
4:17 PM IST & Local Time: That’s the end of the contest! It’s a commanding all-round performance from Madhya Pradesh. They defend a below-par total with authority to seal a convincing 47-run victory at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Madhya Pradesh started cautiously, respecting the moisture on the surface as Kerala’s new-ball bowlers extracted good swing without early rewards. The introduction of Ankit Sharma late in the powerplay turned the game on its head as he struck immediately to remove Yash Dubey for 13 and followed it up by dismissing Harsh Gawli (22) and Shubham Sharma (3) in quick succession. With the red-soil pitch offering sharp turn, wickets fell rapidly — Venkatesh Iyer was run out for 8 and Rahul Batham departed for 3 — leaving Madhya Pradesh reeling at 78/5 and later slipping further to 104/7 despite a brief stand between Saransh Jain and Himanshu Mantri.

From that precarious position, Madhya Pradesh staged a spirited recovery. Aryan Pandey and Mantri added a crucial 40 runs for the eighth wicket before Mantri combined with Tripuresh Singh in the highest partnership of the innings, putting on 66 for the ninth wicket. The fightback lifted MP past 200, with Mantri once again falling agonisingly short of a century, scoring a gritty 93 off 105 balls, while Tripuresh chipped in with a brisk 37 off 25 deliveries. Madhya Pradesh were eventually bowled out for 214 in 46.1 overs, with Ankit Sharma starring for Kerala with impressive figures of 4/38, well supported by Baba Aparajith’s 3/36.

In reply, Kerala also made a poor start to the chase, failing to play sensible cricket as they threw their wickets away cheaply. At one stage, they were reeling at 86/5 and badly in need of a stabilizing partnership. The experienced spin duo of Kumar Kartikeya and Saransh Jain ran riot for Madhya Pradesh, choking the runs and building relentless pressure on the batters. Venkatesh Iyer marshalled his troops superbly as Kerala continued to lose wickets at regular intervals.

There were some contributions down the order from Salman Nizar, who scored 30, and Vishnu Vinod, who added 20, but Kerala were reduced to 118/9 at one stage and staring at a heavy defeat. Just when the game looked done, Sharafuddeen N M injected life into the chase with a breathtaking knock, almost pulling off a miraculous turnaround. He gave it everything, while Vignesh Puthur played a quiet role at the other end. The last-wicket stand was finally broken by Tripuresh Singh, who dismissed Sharafuddeen for 42 off 29 balls, sealing a 47-run win for Madhya Pradesh and keeping them at the top of the Group A points table.

W GONEEEE!! That's the final nail in the coffin. The slower delivery works for Tripuresh Singh as he picks up the final wicket of the match. Back of the hand slower ball around fifth stump. Sharafuddeen swings his bat across the line, gets a thick outside edge which balloons up in the air. Shubham at short third man grabs a simple catch. MP win the contest by 47 runs!

WD WIDE! Short and wide outside off, width offered. Sharafuddeen misses the square cut to the keeper.
