Player of the Match: Shikhar Mohan
5:01 PM IST & Local Time: End of the match! It’s been a completely one-sided affair at the Narendra Modi Stadium, with Jharkhand hammering Rajasthan by 73 runs to seal a dominant victory.
Earlier in the day, Rajasthan won the toss and chose to bowl, and their left-arm pacers made an immediate impact. Khaleel Ahmed struck in the opening over, removing Utkarsh Singh for 4, before Aniket Choudhary accounted for Virat Singh, who showed brief intent but departed for 11. Jharkhand found stability through a crucial third-wicket stand between skipper Kumar Kushagra and Shikhar Mohan, who added 73 runs to arrest the early slide. The partnership was broken against the run of play as Kukna Ajay Singh dismissed Kushagra for 21, while Robin Minz chipped in with a handy 21 off 25 balls before falling soon after.
Shikhar Mohan then took control of the innings alongside Anukul Roy, with the pair adding a valuable 55-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Mohan went on to play a superb knock, bringing up his maiden List-A century before being dismissed for a splendid 129 off 118 balls, once again falling to Khaleel Ahmed. Anukul Roy continued his fine form with a fluent 52 off 43 deliveries, and Manishi’s brisk 26 off 14 balls provided late momentum. Jharkhand were bowled out on the final ball of the innings for 301, with Khaleel Ahmed leading Rajasthan’s bowling attack with impressive figures of 4/49.
In reply, Rajasthan got off to a shaky start as Jharkhand’s pacers Sushant Mishra and Shubham Singh bowled with real fire. Rajasthan lost four wickets inside the powerplay and were left reeling at 26/4 at one stage. They never found any momentum in the chase, playing far too defensively as the required rate continued to climb.
Karan Lamba (102 off 110) was the lone warrior for Rajasthan but received little support from the other end as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. He once again showed his liking for batting against Jharkhand, going on to register his maiden List-A hundred in the final over of the match. Lamba became the fifth victim of Shubham Singh, who went on to complete a superb six-wicket haul with outstanding figures of 6/50. Both sides batted their full quota of 50 overs with all 20 wickets falling, but Rajasthan eventually fell short by 73 runs, slumping to their second straight defeat in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025!
W BOWLED HIM! SIX-WICKET HAUL FOR SHUBHAM SINGH AS HE WRAPS UP THE MATCH! Yorker around off. Aniket gives himself some room and looks to squeeze it away on the off side. He gets a thick inside edge onto his back pad which deflects onto the top of the off stump as the bails fall off. Shubham Singh caps off a memorable day, not just for himself but for Jharkhand as well, as they bundle out Rajasthan for 228 to seal a convincing 73-run victory!
49.5 S Singh to K Ahmed
1 Full around fourth stump. Khaleel drills it to the right of mid off for a single.
