After being whitewashed 3-0 in the T20I series, Afghanistan bounced back to give the visitors a taste of their own medicine in the ODIs. This is their 5th ODI series win on the trot. They will now head to Zimbabwe to play three T20Is and a Test match, which begins next week. Meanwhile, Bangladesh have a lot of questions to answer. Their next assignment is against West Indies in the same format.

Hashmatullah Shahidi (Afghanistan captain): "Very happy about the performance of the team. Not easy to whitewash the opposition. It was a team effort. We were struggling with fast bowlers. But Hamid Hasan's efforts paid off today. Bilal did really well. This is what we were struggling with in the past.
(On the upcoming Test series vs Zimbabwe) A lot of our boys were preparing in Jallahlabad for the red ball series. We don't play red-ball cricket that often. We are excited for it."
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Bangladesh Captain): "Yes, definitely. We accept that we didn't play well in this series. Yes, we made mistakes. We did not get runs and didn't take the opportunities that come our way. They have a good bowling attack but we have to be better than that and everyone in the team agrees that we didn't do well.
We are worried about particular areas of the game. If you are not scoring, you cannot win. You have to take responsibility at the top order as well as in the middle order. We have to focus on the next series now.
First of all, you have to play the 50 overs. We have not done that in this series in any of the games. We were playing 50-over cricket after a long time. Boys are looking towards how to get better with each game."
Ibrahim Zadran (Player of the Series): "(On missing out on his century) It hurt a lot. But I didn't think much about it. I tried to give 100%. That is what my team needed. It is part of cricket. I will get it next time. (On his partnership with Gurbaz) We enjoy batting together. We back each other. The trust is there. We enjoy a lot.
To be honest the wicket was quite tough. I tried to take my time. I tried to apply whatever I had practiced. It was about giving your 100%."
Player of the series — Ibrahim Zadran
