That's all from this one-sided contest, folks! We hope you enjoyed our live coverage. For now, it's me, Deepak Prakash, signing off on behalf of scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. CHEERS!
Sean Solia (Auckland Aces Captain): "Yeah, very pleased. We always enjoy playing at home, so it was nice to put on a performance for the supporters. We would have batted first as well, so it was an interesting toss, but bowling first gave us a good read on the surface.
With the bat, we didnāt feel the need to go too hard earlyājust played strong optionsāand it worked out really well for us. Everyone performed, and on the day youāve got to give credit where itās due. (On Guptill) He was incredible. Heās a classy player, and weāre not surprised by what he produces out in the middle. Itās great to have him in the side."
Cole McConchie (Canterbury Captain): "It was one of those games where we kept losing wickets, especially in the first half of our innings, and couldnāt really get a handle on the run rate. Credit to Aucklandāthey bowled very wellābut in hindsight, it probably came down to our shot selection and execution.
With such a short chase, Auckland played it exactly how you should: coming out hard and putting pressure on us early. We were hoping to pick up a couple of wickets and turn it into a bit of a dogfight, but that didnāt happen today. There are definitely areas where we can improve, so itās about learning from this, putting it behind us, and heading down to Wellington for the next game. (Positives?) I thought Jesse Frew was excellent with the intent he showed early on. For a young player to walk in during a tough situation and play with that level of confidence was outstanding, and it will hold him in good standing going forward."
Rohit Gulati (POTM): "I was just trying to keep things simple. The plan was to stay at the crease for as long as possible, and that really helps. Thatās something Iām learning and working on in the nets as well. Itās about bowling that slightly longer length, which is effective for spinners. As I said, Iām just sticking to my normal plansākeeping it simple and trying to hit the stumps as much as I can. Itās been working well for me at the moment."

7:41 AM IST, 3:11 PM Local Time: An emphatic victory for the Auckland Aces, as they thump the Canterbury Kings by nine wickets with 59 balls to spare. The Aces move to the top of the points table with this win.
Earlier, Canterbury Kings struggled to gain momentum with the bat as a disciplined and incisive bowling display from the Auckland Aces folded them 132 in 20 overs. Early wickets put Canterbury on the back foot straight away, with Harry Chamberlain falling in the opening over and Matthew Boyle being run out soon after. Skipper Cole McConchie also departed cheaply, leaving the Kings in trouble as the top order failed to cope with the sustained pressure created by tight lines and sharp fielding. Rhys Mariu tried to steady the innings with a watchful 20, but it was Leo Carter who injected some intent, top-scoring with 39 off 32 balls to briefly lift the scoring rate. Jesse Frew added a handy 23, while Harper chipped in with a late 15, but regular wickets ensured Canterbury never built a significant partnership. Siddhesh Dixit, Harjot Johal, and Rohit Gulati led the bowling effort with two wickets each, supported by Angus Olliver and Ryan Harrison.
In reply, Dale Phillips and Sean Solia came out all guns blazing, racing to 62 runs for the opening wicket in just 4.4 overs, with Solia departing after a blistering 27 off 14 balls. Martin Guptill then joined Phillips at number three and announced his arrival with back-to-back sixes. The pair went on the offensive, peppering the boundary with ease and keeping the scoring rate soaring.
They stitched together an unbeaten 74-run stand for the second wicket to cruise the Auckland Aces past the target with 59 balls to spare. Phillips remained unbeaten on 55, bringing up a well-paced half-century, while Guptill finished on a rapid 39 off just 15 deliveries. Cole McConchie was the only bowler to get a wicket for the Kings.
Stay tuned for the presentation......
