The toss was done; the playing XIs were out. Somewhere, someone disappointed the rain gods though and they just did not allow any cricket to take place. Well as cricket fans must not be disappointed as our sport just keeps giving. There is a lot of cricket lined through day in different parts of the world. Make sure you tune in! As for the Super Smash, we will be back tomorrow with Match-09 between Central Stags and Canterbury Kings! Hopefully we have better weather tomorrow.

On this hopeful note, I, Manan Mehta, would like to take your leave on behalf of my colleagues Deepak Prakash and Sahil Khan. See yaaa fellas!
10:08 AM IST and 5:38 PM Local Time: Match Abandoned! Very unfortunate news coming our way from Eden Park. Match-08 between the Auckland Aces and Wellington Firebirds has been officially abandoned. The rain has just not stopped. In fact, it has gotten heavier by the minute forcing the match officials to come to this conclusion. Both teams will share 2 point each as a result.
9:26 AM IST, 4:56 PM Local Time: Unfortunately, nothing new to update at this moment! The square is firmly covered, and the rain is persistent. It is not very heavy but enough to keep the cricket away from us. So, the wait continues...
8:51 AM IST, 4:21 PM Local Time: Uh-oh! We were a few minutes away from the start of this contest, but it started drizzling, and the groundsmen covered the pitch and the square area. Hopefully, it will pass away soon. 🤞
Sean Solia (Auckland Aces Captain): "We would have had a bowl first. Difficult to defend at times here at Eden Park so happy to have the new ball. Boys are prepared and ready to for this match.

Always great to have Guptill in the team. He is a legend and has contributed a lot over the years. Just one change. Unfortunately, Simon Keene misses with a niggle. I will slot in."
Nick Kelly (Wellington Firebirds Captain): "We will bat first. Yeah, it looks like a pretty good surface. The other day, it was quite similar, maybe with a little more grass on it, so hopefully we can replicate what we did then.

It’s also great to have a few guys back from injury who missed the early part of the season. A lot of players have stepped up at different times throughout this campaign, and hopefully we can see that again today.

Yeah, we’ve spoken about it quite a bit recently. It’s really about staying in the moment, winning as many balls as we can, and letting that dictate the outcome."
