As expected, it was a one-sided affair in Sylhet as Bangladesh strolled to a comfortable win against the Netherlands to go 1-0 up in the three-match T20I series. Taskin Ahmed starred with the ball with a four-fer and Litton Kumar Das led the way with the bat with an unbeaten half-century.

Litton Kumar Das (Bangladesh Captain): "Definitely, if you have seen, the dew was a big factor. The way our bowlers bowled, Taskin was brilliant. And in between, Saif bowled beautifully well. When Rishad came in to bowl, there was dew. He was not able to grip the ball. And therefore, Saif was brought in.
On this ground, 137 was not a big deal. We wanted to bat and keep going and bat. Thank You."
Taskin Ahmed (POTM): "It is always a great feeling to have a match like this. Especially if it is the first game of the series. After the injury, I was struggling with the rhythm. I am working on the process day by day.
Yeah, last few weeks everyone worked hard in the training. Hard work will pay off for sure, I am just following that.
That wicket is very good to bat on. With the dew, it gets easier. I just followed my basics and bowled with a bit of variations."
Player of the Match: Taskin Ahmed
Scott Edwards (Netherlands Captain): "Yeah, I think Max started well but credits to the Bangladeshi batters and the bowlers they were better today. As I said, credit to Bangladesh, they got us going, and took wickets when we were going. 135 was never on par there.
There will be some things we will be looking at. We will try to come back stronger the next day."

8:33 PM IST & 9:03 PM Local Time: Bangladesh cruise to an easy 8-wicket win with 39 balls to spare. Litton Das led from the front with an unbeaten half-century before the bowlers set it up with a fine display, restricting the Netherlands to 136/8. The Dutch were always behind the 8-ball after a below-par total and the aggressive approach from the hosts with the bat did not help their cause as they were outplayed in the series opener.
Earlier in the game, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl first. Taskin Ahmed provided Bangladesh with the first breakthrough, sending back Max O'Dowd. He struck again to dismiss the other opener, Vikramjit Singh.
Scott Edwards and Teja Nidamanuru added 28 runs for the third wicket before Saif Hassan removed the Dutch captain.
In the same over, he also dismissed Nidamanuru. The Netherlands kept losing wickets at regular intervals and crawled their way to 136/8 in 20 overs.
In reply, Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon gave the hosts a rapid start. Emon made 15 off 9 before he was knocked over by Aryan Dutt.
Litton Das then walked in at 3 and batted the Dutch out of the game. He added 66 runs for the second wicket with Tanzid to put Bangladesh on the brink. Tanzid fell for 29 off 24 but Litton carried on and got to a fine half-century.
He remained unbeaten on 54 off 29. Saif Hasan added the finishing touches to the run chase, with a cameo of 36* off 19.
Aryan Dutt and Tim Pringle were the only bowlers who managed to pick up a wicket each but it was nowhere close to enough as the Netherlands failed to defend a below-par total in Sylhet.
