J&K looked solid right from the start and dominated across all four innings of this contest.
In the first innings, Delhi lost their top three batters early against the new ball and were struggling at 14 for 3. However, skipper Ayush Badoni (64) and Ayush Doseja (65) steadied the innings with a crucial partnership in the middle. Sumit Mathur also played a handy role lower down the order, remaining unbeaten on 55* to guide Delhi to a total of 211. With the ball, Auqib Nabi was outstanding for Jammu & Kashmir, picking up a superb five-wicket haul.
In reply, J&K took firm control of the match, posting 310 in their first innings. Skipper Paras Dogra led from the front with a brilliant century, well supported by Abdul Samad, who played a fluent knock of 85. For Delhi, Simarjeet Singh was the standout bowler, claiming an excellent six-wicket haul to keep his team in the contest.
In the third innings, Delhi got off to a promising start, but their lower order couldn’t provide much resistance. Once again, skipper Ayush Badoni (72) and Ayush Doseja (62) were the pick of the batters, but J&K’s bowlers maintained the pressure throughout. Vanshaj Sharma was the star with the ball, taking a brilliant six-wicket haul to bowl Delhi out for 277 on his debut. In a stunning collapse, Delhi lost seven wickets for just 33 runs — tumbling from 244 for 4 to 277 all out — a phase that completely turned the game in J&K’s favour.
Chasing 179 for victory, Jammu & Kashmir made the target look effortless. Qamran Iqbal stole the show with a magnificent unbeaten 133, guiding his side home with seven wickets in hand and sealing a famous win.
A truly historic and memorable victory for Jammu & Kashmir — one that ends a 65-year wait and will be remembered as a landmark moment in their cricketing journey.
