That brings the curtains to this game. Pakistan have opened their campaign with a massive victory, it has been rare for them in multi-nation tournaments in recent times. However, the Men in Green are looking like a different outfit under Salman Ali Agha. First the Tri-Series and now this win, Pakistan have got a great build-up ahead of the mother of all clashes on Sunday - against archrivals, Team India, who themselves streamrolled the UAE in their first game.
For Oman, they faced a gigantic loss of 93 runs in their debut game of the Asia Cup. But as their captain said, it was a proud performance from the bowlers. If not for the batters, they might have finished closer. Having said that, it wasn't just about three-fers for Faisal Shah and Aamir Kaleem, this game will also be remembered for a courageous last-wicket stand between Samay Shrivastava and Shakeel Ahmed in Oman Cricket.
That's it from our end from this game, but the action is far from over. Do join tabs to the second T20I between England and South Africa, which is going on live right now. Also, join us tomorrow for the big-ticket fixture between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
This is Arjun Bhalla, signing off on behalf of my mates - AkshayaKrishna Polya, Paras Yadav and Aman (the stats guy).
Salman Ali Agha (Pakistan Captain): "I think we need to work a bit with the bat still. The bowling was outstanding. The spinners were very good. Shaheen was good in his comeback spell. Also, Faheem bowled well.
All three spinners are quite different. Also, Saim Ayub has been good with both new and old balls. When you come to the UAE, you need to have a lot of spinners. We have 4-5 spinners on the side.
With the way we started, we needed to score around 180. It is just a game of cricket. You never know how you end up.
We have been playing good cricket in the last 2-3 months. I have been saying it for a while. We won the Tri-Series and now won comprehensively tonight. If we can execute our plans for a long enough period, we are good enough to beat any team. It should be a good game against India."
Jatinder Singh (Oman Captain): "Absolutely, restricting them to 160, I am very proud of my side. They were bang on target. Really executed the plans well. 10/10 performance with the ball.
Uh, we didn't get it right in our batting innings. We could have batted well, but we are a far better side than this. We will bounce back in our next game.
(On facing India) My tip for the team is going to be, don't think and play everyone on merit. We'll back ourselves and be confident."
Mohammad Haris (POTM): "Well, feeling very good. It was a much-needed innings for me and for the side. I am happy to contribute to Pakistan.
To be honest, it looked like a flat wicket when I went out there first, but the ball wasn't coming onto the bat. We had to work hard to score runs. We did well in the end to post good runs on the board.
(On his batting position) Whatever the team demands, I am ready to do. Even if they say to bat at number 10, I would do that.
(On his aggressive batting) That was what I was doing for Pakistan since the last 5-6 years and in the PSL. Also, the skipper told me to play aggressively."
