We are just a game away from knowing who the 'Maharaja' of Karnataka is, as the stage is set at Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadeyar Ground, Mysore, for the grand final of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 2025.

The 2023 champions, Hubli Tigers, will lock horns with Mangaluru Dragons in the summit clash on Thursday (August 28).

The Dragons finished at the top of the points table, with 15 points from 10 games, having won seven and lost two. One of their matches was abandoned due to rain.

On the other hand, the Tigers finished in second place on the points table, with 14 points from 10 games, having won seven and lost three.

Both teams have already faced each other thrice this season. While the Dragons won the first meet-up by 16 runs, the Devdutt Padikkal-led side bounced back to settle the scores with a 23-run win in the reverse fixture.

Since the two teams secured a top-two finish, they bumped into each other in Qualifier 1. The Tigers hunted the Dragons, reducing them to pieces and jumped into the final with a thumping 110-run victory. DDP's unbeaten 64-ball 99 and Mohammed Taha's brisk 37 set the tone, before Abhinav Manohar's cracking half-century helped the Hubli-based franchise to a towering 210/2 in 20 overs. Also, Manvanth Kumar L gave a nice finishing, hammering 16 off just 6 balls.

The Dragons didn't even afford to give a fight as they were bundled out for just 100. Rithesh Bhatkal, Yash Punja, Shreesha Achar, KC Cariappa, and Nathan D'Mello all contributed to Mangaluru's downfall, taking the Tigers into the final.

The Shreyas Gopal-led unit bounced back from that annihilation in a quick time to hammer Bengaluru Blasters by seven wickets in Qualifier 2 and set the finale date with the Tigers, ensuring the two teams would face off each other for the 4th time in this competition.

Although Rohan Patil hit an unbeaten 86, a collective bowling performance from Mangaluru was enough to skittle out the Blasters for 152. Gopal led from the front and picked up 3 wickets. Abhilash Shetty and Macneil Hadley Noronha took a couple of wickets each, while the consistent Kranthi Kumar scalped one wicket.

Lochan S Gowda and Sharath BR laid a solid platform for a smooth run chase. Pallavkumar Das and Noronha chipped in with their respective 20s. Lochan anchored the chase beautifully and remained unbeaten on 62 off 51 balls, guiding the Dragons home in the final over.

Lochan S Gowda, Macneil Hadley Noronha, Shreyas Gopal, Sharath BR, Kranthi Kumar, and Shivaraj S are the key players in the Dragons' line-up. These have played important roles throughout the season.

Speaking of the Tigers, they are heavily dependent on Padikkal, Taha, KL Shrijith and Abhinav Manohar with the bat, while KC Cariappa, impressive leggie Yash Punja and Shreesha Achar with the ball.

Hubli are eyeing their second tile, while Mangaluru are aiming for their maiden silverware. Hubli Tigers come into this game as favourites, but Mangaluru Dragons aren't far away, given the way they have stepped up in this tournament.
