18 days of incredible cricket, 34 pulsating cricket matches of fierce competition, plethora of runs, plenty of wickets, brilliant catches and all the extravaganza in the T20 festival of Karnataka has come to an end now. Mangaluru Dragons have clinched their maiden Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 title defeating the Hubli Tigers by 14 runs in VJD method in a rain interrupted grand finale. They were obliterated in the first qualifier against this very opposition but they shredded the disappointment, regrouped themselves and won back to back games to take the trophy home. Hubli Tigers on the other side, has done incredibly well throughout the season. They showed some fiery team performance across the tournament but failed to cross the final hurdle.

Shreyas Gopal joins his Mangaluru Dragons' teammates and now they are posing behind the "CHAMPIONS" board. Celebrations have started. They deserve every bit of it.
Shreyas Gopal (Mangaluru Dragons Captain): "The preparation was great. We had a camp in Dindigul. The composition of the side was great. The support staff did good job. I can't be more proud of the guys. We had to play five games straight but they did well and we won four games.
Absolutely when Devdutt and Taha were batting, you know they can take the game away from you. I was thinking about anything over 200 at that stage. Exceptional from the boys to restrict them under 160.
I think it is a proper blend of youngsters and seniors. Complete team play. This is the culture that you want to develop in the team. It is my first victory as a captain. You see, Mangaluru had a few tough seasons earlier. It was important for us to win this tournament. I can't wait to join the boys for the celebration (chuckles)."

Devdutt Padikkal (Hubli Tigers Captain): "Obviously firstly congratulations to Mangaluru Dragons. I think they have played some really good cricket throughout the season. I think they deserve this. Firstly, I think it is disappointing that we couldn't play the full game. We lost and it is a bit underwhelming. We will learn from this and comeback stronger next year.
It has been a great season. We have seen some new guys stepping up and that's what our state needs. It is good to see Karnataka has a great pool of cricketers. We will have to continue to get better and find new players.
Our coaches are well experienced and I think the young guys have learnt a lot for them. Hubli Tigers as a franchise has helped us a lot. It was needed for us to acclimatize."
