6:29 PM IST and Local Time: An emphatic victory for the Mangaluru Dragons, who have beaten the Bengaluru Blasters in a clinical win. Sharath BR and Lochan Gowda's legendary opening stand ensured that the Dragons bank a massive victory. As a result, MD went over the line by nine wickets with 23 balls to spare.
Opening the innings, Gowda and Sharath went behind the Bengaluru bowlers from the word go. They added 67 runs in the powerplay overs, with Gowda going berserk and Sharath playing the second fiddle. The duo added 99 runs between them off just 56 deliveries, but Rohan Raju broke the stand by sending Gowda back on 55.
However, BR took over Gowda's role during the 49-run stand with Aashish Mahesh. The opener stayed unbeaten on 72, while Mahesh contributed a 19-ball 16.
Earlier in the day, Shreyas Gopaland Abhilash Shetty broke Bengaluru's back by sharing five wickets between them. Gopal returned with three for 29 in his four overs, while Shetty took 2/27 in his three. All in all, it was a clinical day at the office for the Dragons!
