Sumit Kumar (Mysore Warriors): "We were talking continuously and Manish bhai was sayin to take the time. We had a target in our mind but scored more than that.

The wicket was a bit dicey. It was not easy to play the pacers. It feels good to play with Manish bhai. It gives you the opportunity to learn a lot."

11:41 PM IST & Local Time | Mysore Warriors kick-start their campaign with a win as they beat Bengaluru Blasters comfortably by a margin of 39 runs in a one-sided affair.

Earlier, Mysore Warriors won the toss and opted to bat first. They lost both their openers early inside the powerplay, However, on the back of Manish Pandey's knock of 58* runs off 29 balls and Sumit Kumar's handy knock of 44* runs off 28 balls, they reached to an above par score of 180/5 on the board.

Shubhang Hegde was the pick of the bowlers for his side as he bagged 3 wickets and gave away just 23 runs in his 4 overs.

Chasing 181, Chethan LR and Rohan Patil played some good shots early on but both the openers fell cheaply after. CA Karthik and Kumar LR breathed fire with the new ball as they both bagged 6 wickets amongst each other.

Mayank Agarwal came in at 3 and held one end firmly. However, wickets kept tumbling at the other end. None of the Bengaluru Blasters' batters contributed to the team's cause.

The pressure kept on mounting on the skipper Mayank Agarwal as well. He played some good shots in his knock of 66 runs off 49 balls before getting out. In the end, Bengaluru Blasters got bowled out on 141, handing the Mysore Warriors a comfortable win by 39 runs. Stay tuned for the presentations.
