3:45 PM IST, Local Time: There it is! The two teams shake hands, and the match ends in a draw as Punjab showed great resilience on the Day 4 pitch to erase the deficit. However, Goa will walk away with three crucial points from this contest, courtesy of their first-innings lead.

Earlier, after opting to bat first, Punjab were bowled out for 325 runs in 135.4 overs. They got off to a shaky start, losing four wickets for just 59 runs, before skipper Uday Saharan led a fine recovery with a gritty 126 off 306 balls. He stitched a crucial 164-run stand with Salil Arora (63) for the sixth wicket to rescue Punjab from trouble. However, once the partnership was broken, the lower order crumbled quickly. For Goa, Darshan Misal (3/72) and Deepraj Gaonkar (3/34) were the standout performers, while V Koushik also impressed with 2/51, helping bowl Punjab out for a modest total.

Goa produced a commanding reply, declaring their first innings at 494/6 and taking a hefty 169-run lead. The openers set the tone with a massive 222-run partnership, as Suyash Prabhudessai anchored the innings with a brilliant 149, while Manthan Khutkar contributed a solid 86. Later, Abhinav Tejrana accelerated the scoring with 131 off 140 balls, including seven sixes, and skipper Snehal Suhas Kauthankar chipped in with a composed 78. Despite a few late wickets, Goa’s dominance never waned. For Punjab, Ayush Goyal (3/87) was the pick of the bowlers, but the visitors struggled to contain Goa’s powerful batting display.

Punjab began their second innings positively, with Prabhsimran Singh playing a few delightful strokes, including three boundaries off Arjun Tendulkar in one over. However, Tendulkar had the last laugh, trapping him for 17 to give Goa an early breakthrough. Uday Saharan and Harnoor Singh then steadied the innings before Darshan Misal turned the tide in Goa’s favour. The left-arm spinner struck twice in quick succession, removing Saharan for 16 and trapping Naman Dhir for 2 to leave Punjab in trouble at 59/3.

Harnoor found support from Nehal Wadhera, and the duo added 47 runs for the fourth wicket before Lalit Yadav cleaned up Harnoor for 49. From there, Wadhera and Ramandeep Singh led a solid recovery, showing great application and composure. The pair added 73 runs for the fifth wicket, ensuring Punjab wiped off the deficit and batted safely towards a draw. Wadhera remained unbeaten on 55, while Ramandeep was not out on 36, as both teams eventually shook hands to settle for a draw. Goa, however, pocketed three crucial points courtesy of their first-innings lead.
3:43 PM IST, Local Time: Time for a drinks break! A solid fightback from Wadhera (55*) and Ramandeep Singh (36*) as the pair has added 73 runs for the fifth wicket, steering Punjab towards a safe zone. With the game drifting towards a draw, the handshake seems just around the corner.
