Milestone
That's it from our coverage of the Group B fixture in the Ranji Trophy between Kerala and Maharashtra from Thiruvananthapuram. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Stay tuned for more action from around the world.
Player of the Match: Ruturaj Gaikwad
2:40 PM: Handshakes all over! That is the end of the match. We are close to the tea break and both the captains have decided no result is possible in this match anymore. Maharashtra take 3 points due to the first innings lead and Kerala will take just 1.

Quick recap to the match: Kerala won the toss at home and opted to bowl. Maharashtra were 19/5 in the first session losing 4 batters for a duck. Ruturaj Gaikwad hit 91, Jalaj Saxena scored 49 helping the side to add 239 in the end.

MD Nidheesh was the star for Kerala with the ball in the first innings claiming 5/49. Sanju Samson played a similar role with the bat scoring 54 in 63 balls. Salman Nizar hit 49 but their contributions weren't enough to get the lead as Saxena picked up 3/46 wrapping up the hosts for 219.

The conditions were much better to bat as the game progressed. Prithvi Shaw made good use of it scoring 75. Siddhesh Veer hit an unbeaten 55 off 197 deliveries and Gaikwad hit twin fifties finishing unbeaten on 55 as well.

Akshay Chandran had Shaw caught behind on the 4th morning with NP Basil removing Arshin Kulkarni trapping him LBW. No other Kerala bowler could claim a wicket with the spin trio of Ankit Sharma, Akshay Chandran and Baba Aparajith toiling hard in the afternoon session without success.

Kerala will next face Punjab in the next round at Mullanpur. Maharashtra will travel north as well to face Chandigarh.
