That's it from the match, folks! Paarl Royals with a dominant performance to secure their place at the top and in the playoffs! Join us back tomorrow as we bring you all the LIVE cricketing action from around the world!

This is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my colleagues Mohammad Anab and Yogesh Kumar! See you at the next one.
Ottneil Baartman (POTM):

Interviewer: Welcome back, Ottneil. Great to have you back. I think even the Pretoria Capitals fans enjoyed that today. Talk to us about your tactics when you were given the ball.

Baartman: I just tried to attack the wicket as much as possible. There was good bounce and some variation in the pitch, so it was about exploring the conditions. Because of that, I didn’t feel there was much need for slower balls. The cross-seam deliveries worked well.

Interviewer: Sitting on the sidelines is always frustrating when you’re injured. What did you learn from that period?

Baartman: It was a good chance to freshen the body. I’ve been playing cricket for a while, and watching from the sidelines gave me perspective. Nqobani Mokoena came in and made an impact—he’s been bowling really well—so full credit to him. Sikandar Raza also stepped up today, and that made a big difference.

Interviewer: Bowling in tandem with someone like Sikandar Raza, how much does that help?

Baartman: A lot. He’s a world-class player and a world-class bowler. He’s calm and composed, which allows me to settle in. The wicket was a bit slow, so while the spinners weren’t always in play early, they were crucial in the middle overs. They really set the game up.

Interviewer: Twice you were on a hat-trick. What was going through your mind?

Baartman: I was definitely thinking about it, but I just tried to stay focused on the basics and finish the job. The guys around me stuck to the plan. It was a good bowling surface—if you hit the right length and stayed patient, there was plenty on offer.

Interviewer: It was an absolute pleasure watching you tonight. Thanks for the entertainment.

Baartman: Thank you, I appreciate it.
Player of the Match: Ottneil Baartman
David Miller (Paarl Royals Captain): "Phenomenal day, the guys executed really well. Stuck to their lengths, and it was a perfect day. Clinical performance and claiming the bonus point was a cherry on top.

Baartman has been around for a long time; he is very experienced, and his skill set is really good. He is skiddy, and if he bowls in good areas, he is tough to play. His character is fantastic, wants to bowl in tough moments, and as a captain, that's all you can ask for.

You have to be flexible and go with the flow on a day, but also have our tactics with us. It's just about being adaptable and working out the right tactics for the day."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony..
Keshav Maharaj (Pretoria Capitals Captain):

Interviewer: Thanks very much for your time. Obviously, it wouldn’t have been the result that you would have wanted. Let’s start first of all with the batting. Take us through the batting.

Maharaj: Yeah, obviously very disappointed with the batting. Never easy in such conditions at play and just trying to play a certain way. It’s obviously something that we need to address because it’s gone on for a couple of games now. You know, you get a little bit of a start and then you lose your way through that and don’t set up the foundation. Sherfane Rutherford is not always going to bail us out. So a bit disappointing, but nonetheless we have to dust ourselves off. It’s an important game for us this Saturday and we have to bounce back.

Interviewer: We speak a lot about 180 being enough at this ground. It’s proven to be that way in the past. At this surface tonight, what did you feel would have been a good score on the surface?

Maharaj: Yeah, obviously 160. We knew it was a used wicket and we saw the variable bounce at times, and a couple of them were zipping through. Look, if we had 30 more runs on the board, it could have been a very different outcome, and we saw how our bowlers bowled up front. But nonetheless, 127 is not even close to possible. It’s very hard to defend that.

Interviewer: Bowling effort — I know you didn’t have runs to defend — you spoke about that, but how would you rate the bowling effort?

Maharaj: Yeah, obviously, we were good in patches. A couple of free balls, which sort of tends to happen when you’re behind the eight ball. But I think the bowling unit has really tried their best over here. Like I said, we lose as a team at the end of the day. So back to the drawing board and, you know, we come back on Saturday and bounce back.

Interviewer: Having had a good run, is there any look at dropped catches through this season?

Maharaj: Yeah, very much so. I think it’s been a tale of the tournament — a lot of dropped catches. So it’s something that we can look to assess. But no one needs to drop catches. As long as the attitude is right, then we don’t question it. Like I said, when you’re behind the eight ball, those things tend to not go your way.

Interviewer: Thanks very much for your time.

Maharaj: Just thank you to the crowd at Supersport Park. You guys have been amazing throughout five sell-out games. Obviously disappointing not to have a good home record, but thank you for all the love and support throughout. Thank you.
12:12 AM IST, 8:42 PM Local Time | Paarl Royals blow Pretoria Capitals out of the water to seal victory with a bonus point! A slowish end to the chase, but Paarl would not mind! They move to joint-top on the table with Sunrisers Eastern Cape, and secure their place in the playoffs! Paarl Royals win by 6 wickets!

Pretoria Capitals won the toss and elected to bat first! With the wicket dry and sticky, scoring runs was always going to be tough, but Ottniel Baartman made it even tougher for Pretoria with a scintillating hat-trick to achieve the figures of 5/16 from 4 overs with 1 triple-wicket maiden! A bowling performance that saw 3 golden ducks and 4 overall to restrict Pretoria Capitals to 127 all out within 19.1 overs.

Hardus Viljoen and Sikandar Raza picked up a couple of wickets each, with Bjorn Fortuin registering a solitary wicket to complete the rout! For Pretoria, it was a bleak day with the bat as no batter crossed the 30-run mark, with Rutherford's 29 off 20 being the highest and brightest.

Come the chase, Pretoria had some hope early on as Lizaad Williams dismissed both openers in the powerplay for a combined total of 6 runs. However, the in-form duo of Rubin Hermann and Daniel Lawrence were in no mood to give this away. They stitched together a crucial stand of 52 runs for the third wicket to stabilize the chase.

Hermann was cutting loose, but played one shot too many against Peters to fall 4 runs short of his half-century. His knock came to an end with his score at 46 runs off 29 balls thanks to Gideon Peters.

Skipper Miller walked out next to support Lawrence, and these two put together a match-winning partnership worth 57 runs for the 4th wicket to take the game away from Pretoria. Lawrence fell for 41 with the victory just 2 runs away, Miller stayed unbeaten at 28 runs off 16 balls, but somehow it was Sikandar Raza who hit the final 2 runs to secure his team the victory with a bonus point!

For Pretoria Capitals, Lizaad Williams picked up 2/28 from his 3 overs. Lungi Ngidi and Gideon Peters picked up 1 wicket each. But the entire team was no match for Paarl Royals today in all 3 departments.
