That's it from this match, folks! Join us back tomorrow as we continue to bring you all the LIVE action from around the world!

Until then, this is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my colleague Zeeshan Naiyer! See you at the next one.
Tristan Stubbs (Player of the Match): "One of those days, unfortunately, the things did not go our way. I think if you break it down, we haven't done well in the games we lost. They both went into the last over, which says we were there until the end, but we could not get over the line."
Player of the Match: Tristan Stubbs
Aiden Markram (Durban Super Giants Captain): "Fortunately, beggars cannot be choosers at this stage. It feels nice to get a win. We are at a position where we need to win every game. We take points and a couple of lessons today with us.

The wicket can be challenging here; it can get slower. We are blessed to have two great spinners. The boys bowled well in the final 3 overs, a couple of bad balls but a couple of good shots as well. Credit to Stubbo.

Luckily, we got off to a good start, and credit to everyone for batting well to chase this down. It was not a preset plan; they have got a good bowling attack. At some stage you have to take a risk, otherwise they will keep bowling well. Ackerman and I got off to a decent start, but if you can extend that to 20-30 runs more, you really leave an impact. Missed a trick there, but happy to win.

Massive 50-50, the comp with the way it has gone for us, some on us, some due to rain, we expect it to be a bit of grovel or hard workk at the end, but there are better ways we could have done things, and we hope to improve."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony..
Tristan Stubbs (Sunrisers Eastern Cape Captain): "The second innings ebbed and flowed, credit to them. They got away from us at the start, and we couldn't get back into the game.

The powerplay is crazy; it slows down, and you get going at the end. It was one of St. George's days. In hindsight, it is a lovely thing, but the 4th guy out there was great, but we couldn't get it done.

I never fault, they needed 6.5 per over. We were there in the game, and unfortunately, we could not get over the line. The way the weekend is gone, organizers must be happy. We got 2 more home games, and we owe this crowd a great performance. Unfortunately, we could not get over the line."
10:34 PM IST, 7:04 PM Local Time | Durban Super Giants win their first game of 2026! They clinch a last over thriller by 2 wickets to beat the table toppers in Sunrisers Eastern Cape!

Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the toss and elected to bat first! After being reduced to 87//5, Tristan Stubbs (47)* and Lewis Gregory (25)* stitched together a 71-run stand for the 6th wicket to help their team establish a total of 158/5 at the end of their 20 overs.

For Durban Super Giants, all their bowlers picked up a wicket each to contribute equally today!

Come the chase, Aiden Markram and Marques Ackerman came out all guns blazing for Durban Super Giants and blazed away to a 49-run opening partnership in just 4.2 overs! The introduction of spin for the SEC is when things began to change.

Senuran Muthusamy toppled Markram (45) to open the wickets column. Marques Ackerman went into overdrive but fell short of his half-century as he chopped one onto his own stumps off Nortje, with his score at 45 runs off 26 balls.

Jos Buttler scored a run-a-ball 22 runs, and he was the last batter for Durban to go past the 20-run mark. Handy knocks from Bedingham (16) and Gerald Coetzee (13) kept the chase afloat as big names such as Narine (0), Klaasen (10), and Livingstone (10) failed to deliver in the middle.

In the end, it was Evan Jones who held his nerve along with Maphaka to deliver the winning blow for Durban Super Giants.

Senruan Muthusamy was the pick of the bowlers with 2/20 from 4 overs. While Anrich Nortje finished with 2/34 from 3.3 overs. Jansen, Milne, Ratnayake, and Gregory all picked up a wicket each, but despite their best efforts, Durban Super Giants crawled over the finishing line with 3 balls to spare in the game.
