Milestone
So that caps off another season of the BBL. Perth Scorchers are back on top after three years, outclassing Sydney Sixers — the second-most successful team in the tournament’s history — to clinch their sixth BBL title.

That’s all from our coverage of this fixture. Do switch tabs to follow more cricketing action from around the world. This is Ajay Pal Singh signing off on behalf of my colleagues Darpan Tikiya, Zeeshan Naiyer and Aman. Goodbye and take care.
Ashton Turner collects the trophy and celebrates on the podium with his teammates. Fireworks go off and jubilation in the Orange camp.
Ashton Turner (Perth Scorchers Captain): "It is symbolic of this team, this organisation. And the support we have from the wider cricketing state. We are fortunate that 11 of us can take the field. But we know that it is a much bigger effort to get us out there and get us to a point where we can achieve success. There are too many people to name. But, you know, the guys who missed out, the support staff, the coaching staff, the management, the executive and board at WA cricket to the fans. I heard that we have broken a record for the biggest crowd ever to attend a game of cricket in Western Australia.

[Vibe in the group] It is pretty surreal. This has been a long time in the making. There has been a lot of time and effort spent about being preparing for this competition. Planning, time, on the phone, emails conversations about how we will be able to best prepare to put the best plans into practice over the last week. It has been an exhausting period, really exciting period of the year, to be able to cap it off with the trophy is pretty exciting.

[On Sydney Sixers] Yeah, I have spoken a lot in the media that Sixers will be here and we have so much respect for them as a team. We relate a lot of their values, the competitiveness and the continuity. Congratulations for Moises and Greg on your season. We know it is always a challenge to come up against you guys, we are sure this is not the last battle we will have against you."
Perth Scorchers players now to collect their winners medals.
Time for the match officials to collect their mementos.
Moises Henriques (Sydney Sixers captain): "It hurts. We had big plans to come out here and keep this Perth crowd relatively quiet. It is an incredible atmosphere to be part of. Well done to Ashton (Turner) and his boys on an incredible season.

I want to give a shoutout to boys who probably deserved to play, but could not get as many chances this season. They take it on the chin. I would also like to thank our sponsors and our coaching staff. They got us close, but we could not get over the line. Thanks boys, thanks gents."
David Payne (POTM): [Emotions on final] Yeah, it is hard to describe any emotions. I am elated for the Perth fans, they are the ones who turned up tonight and made it to the final that it was and then the boys, they were just awesome once again. It hasn't sunk in till now but I am sure it will over the time.

[On his performance] It was nervy but once you get a couple of good ones out there, it calms the nerves. Times like these is where you want to do well, glad I could do that."
