3/52 - Riley Meredith (Hobart Hurricanes) vs Sydney Sixers, Sydney, 2026* (Challenger)
1/51 - Ben Laughlin (Adelaide Strikers) vs Sydney Sixers, Adelaide, 2015 (Semi-Final)
3:17 PM IST, 8:47 PM Local Time: That’s the end of the first innings. A very good batting display from Sydney Sixers as they have got runs on the board in the knockout fixture. After being inserted, they post 198/8 on the board, their highest innings total against Hobart Hurricanes in BBL. The Hurricanes now have a monumental task ahead of them with the bat.
After being asked to bat first, Daniel Hughes and Steve Smith got the Sixers off to a good start. Both put 27 for the opening wicket before the southpaw holed out in the deep on 13 in his 100th BBL game. Smith played some magnificent strokes and kept scoring at a brisk rate.
The Hurricanes were a bit rusty with the ball and Smith took the advantage of it as he brought up his fifty in just 31 balls. Josh Philippe at three scored a run-a-ball 15 before departing in the 10th over. The Sixers were placed at 95/2 at the halfway mark of their innings.
Smith was joined by his skipper Moises Henriques and they took the Power Surge in the 12th over. The Sixers scored 35 runs in the Surge but at the cost of Smith (65) and Henriques (19), who were sent packing by Rishad Hossain in a single over. Lachlan Shaw and Joel Davies started building a partnership for the hosts.
Davies played a fine cameo of 12-ball 27 before he holed out in the deep in the 16th over. Shaw (21), Ben Dwarshuis (0) and Jack Edwards (15) fell in the penultimate over of the innings. Ben Manenti (6*) and Sean Abbott (5*) remained unbeaten as the Sixers finished their innings on 198/8.
For the Hurricanes, Riley Meredith picked up three wickets but was very expensive, conceding 52 runs in his four overs. Billy Stanlake (2/46) and Rishad Hossain (2/33) picked up two scalps each. The spinners are getting a decent amount of purchase and it won't be easy batting. Let's wait and see how the Hurricanes respond. Don't go anywhere as we will be back with the run chase shortly.

Just short of Ward at deep mid wicket.
19.5 B Stanlake to Abbott
1 Length ball around middle and leg, slower ball. Abbott backs away for room and heaves it away on the onside. Ward at deep mid wicket, runs forward, dives full length but the ball falls just short of him. Just a single taken.
