"Lynn"sanity finally arrived at BBL15! In his 300th T20 match, Chris Lynn scored an enthralling 79* (41) after the bowlers had restricted Brisbane Heat to an underwhelming total of 121.

With this win, Adelaide Strikers also get a huge boost in the NRR column climb up to the 4th spot in the points table. They will be in action next on Sunday, January 4, when the lock horns with Perth Scorchers.

Brisbane Heat will next face Melbourne Stars on Friday, January 2. Before that, a double header will help us kick off 2026. Tomorrow's first match will be between Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Sixers at the Docklands Stadium. Our live coverage will begin at 9:30 AM IST (3:00 PM local time). Do join us for it.

For now, this is the troika of Darpan Tikiya, Dev Rajawat and Raju Khariya signing off. See you in 2026! Sayonara!
Liam Scott (Player of the Match): "In my 24 balls, I didn’t concede a boundary, so yeah, it’s always nice to contribute in a good team win. That’s been my role over the last couple of games, and it feels great to have an impact when the team needs it.

I was really pleased to get a couple of overs in and finish my spell well. In this format, fast bowlers have to adapt because overs go so quickly around the world now.

Lynn has been doing it for years in this competition, so to be part of another win alongside players like him is pretty special. The guys batted beautifully as well, which made our job easier.

Taking the new ball isn’t something that’s set in stone. It mostly depends on match-ups. The idea is that Wood and I can hopefully get a bit of swing with the new ball up front. It worked well tonight, but we’ll take it game by game and see what works best.

The crowd tonight was unbelievable. Adelaide Oval doesn’t get much better than this - around 40,000 people in the stands. It was an awesome atmosphere to play in.

Really enjoyed the night. Thank you very much."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: LIAM SCOTT
4:46 PM IST, 9:46 PM local time: The fans of Adelaide Strikers might have the same feeling of euphoria and joy that a traveller wading through a desert has when he/she finds an oasis. After all, it is for the first time in 7 years, they have registered a victory in the New Year's Eve clash and it is an emphatic one. They win by 7 wickets and with 35 balls to spare.

It is a fabulous way to end what was a tough year for them. In January 2025, they lost more than they won. The same was the case in December up until this point. But tonight, they flipped the script.

Of course, Chris Lynn will hog the headlines. It had been a lean run for him this season until tonight. But he stepped up on the big occasion. It was his 300th T20 match and he became the first man ever to notch-up 4,000 runs in the BBL. And that wasn't enough. By the time the game came to conclusion, he had reminded the spectators of his vintage best — 6 fours and 6 powerful sixes were the highlights of his 41-ball-79*. Earlier, Lynn had even effected a spectacular run out to dismiss Matthew Renshaw.

However, in all fairness, the victory was set up by the bowlers. Liam Scott, in particular, was the architect-in-chief. He bowled a four-over spell up front without conceding a single boundary and picked up two important wickets — that of Colin Munro and Max Bryant.

Jamie Overton might have been guilty of bowling a handful of wides, but he caught everyone's attention with some 145 kph + thunderbolts and finished with an impressive 3/19. Hasan Ali too picked up two wickets.

If not for Matthew Kuhnemann's fighting cameo of 31* (22), Brisbane Heat might have not even crossed 100. In the end, they did manage to put up a respectable score, but it wasn't enough.

4 THRASHED FOR FOUR! Adelaide Strikers have won a New Year's Eve clash for the first time since BBL08 — after 6 long years! It's a night than belonged to Liam Scott and Chris Lynn. What a way to cap off 2025 and head into 2026! This was fired full, to outside off, from around the wicket, Scott clattered it to the cover boundary.
