That’s all from the final league-stage encounter of the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025! Unfortunately, rain had the final say yet again. For India, the result won’t hurt much, but all attention now shifts to Pratika Rawal’s injury. The big question remains whether she’ll recover in time for the blockbuster semi-final against Australia on Thursday.

Fasten your seatbelts, folks — it’s knockout time! The first semi-final will see South Africa take on England in Guwahati on Wednesday, followed by India’s clash with Australia on Thursday in Navi Mumbai. Both games have reserve days in place, just in case the rain decides to make another appearance.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh who, along with scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer & statistician Aman brought all the updates of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE👋
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain): "Today, I think, the way we bowled, it looked quite balanced and a lot of clarity was there which we will take from this game.

Pratika, our medical team will give an update on her. They are looking at her injury and hopefully, we will get to hear about her soon.

Well, it is a very important game for us. I feel we have played good cricket in league matches, now the next game is a crucial one for us. Everyone has contributed and I think that is something we want to carry forward. That is the key for us and we just want to go and enjoy ourselves in the semis.

The way Radha bowled today, gives us an option for the next game. Amanjot, too, came back and bowled well. Apart from Pratika's injury, whatever we wanted to achieve, we did today. Hopefully, she will be fine."
Nigar Sultana Joty (Bangladesh Women Captain): "It's not good to be honest. I got hit on the same spot where I had an injury earlier. So, maybe it will take 1-2 weeks to recover.

First of all, we started the tournament on a good note as it gave us some momentum. We came up with some close games against England, Sri Lanka and South Africa. Maybe, there were a few areas where if we would have done well, we would have won those games.

I think we have been working really hard as a group and we know each other a lot. We have been giving our 110% on the ground. They all are champions. They will take the positives from here and will look to improve moving forward.

When I go back to the dressing room, I just want to summarize what we did in the entire tournament. We should sit and discuss about everything. We should look into the areas where we can improve for our upcoming matches."

A disappointing finish to the final group-stage clash of the Cricket World Cup 2025, as the rain refuses to relent. The captains shake hands with the umpires, confirming that the game has been called off.

It was a stop-start affair right from the outset, just as expected. Under overcast skies, Harmanpreet Kaur finally had luck on her side at the toss and chose to bowl first. Bangladesh struggled early on as India’s bowlers made immediate inroads. Renuka Singh Thakur struck in the very first over, followed by Deepti Sharma removing the other opener before rain halted proceedings. The standout moment of the innings came from Radha Yadav, whose sharp direct hit caught skipper Nigar Sultana Joty short of her crease for just 9.

The only real resistance from Bangladesh came through Sharmin Akhter, who top-scored with 36 off 53 balls, and Sobhana Mostary, who chipped in with a quick 26 off 21. The duo added 38 runs for the fourth wicket, offering a brief glimpse of recovery, but that was as good as it got for the visitors. Once Mostary departed, the innings unraveled swiftly — collapsing from 91/3 to 117/9 as India’s bowlers turned up the heat. Radha Yadav was the standout performer, finishing with impressive figures of 3/30, as Bangladesh were restricted to 119/9 in their 27 overs.

India’s chase began with real intent as Smriti Mandhana and Amanjot Kaur, opening together due to Pratika Rawal’s injury, got off to a flying start. Mandhana (34*) looked in sublime touch, timing the ball beautifully and finding boundaries with ease, while Amanjot (15*) matched her partner’s aggression to keep the scoreboard ticking. Their positive approach ensured India made light work of the DLS-revised target of 126, racing to 57/0 in just 8.4 overs.

However, just as India seemed on course for a commanding win, rain returned to halt proceedings once again. Eventually, the weather had the final word, and the match was abandoned, leaving both teams to share the points. Stay tuned for the Post-Match Presentation!
10:20 PM IST & Local Time: There you have it — the inevitable has been confirmed. The match has officially been ABANDONED due to rain. Both teams will have to settle for a point each, as the final group-stage clash ends in disappointment, courtesy of the weather gods.
10:15 PM IST & Local Time: It continues to rain heavily at the DY Patil Stadium, and chances of further play look slim unless the rain stops immediately — which seems unlikely at the moment. The fans, though, remain hopeful as they take shelter under the stands.
10:05 PM IST & Local Time: Oh Dear Me! It continues to rain in Navi Mumbai and the umpires have had enough. We need 11.2 more overs more to be bowled or India to chase down the target to conclude this contest. The umbrellas go up and that could probably be it from the final league stage game of the tournament. The ground staff rush in with the covers. The pitch has been covered in a blink of an eye. More covers are coming on which is not good news for the players and the fans!
Another dropped catch by Nigar Sultana Joty. She seems to have hurt her finger and is down in pain. Physio rushes out to check on her. That delay forces umpires to take the players off the field.
