A forgettable outing for Bangladesh, who paid the price for resting their strike bowler Marufa Akter in this crucial clash. The decision backfired as they endured their first-ever 10-wicket defeat in ODIs. Meanwhile, Australia continue their remarkable run β thatβs now 13 consecutive ODI wins World Cup for the defending champions! With this emphatic victory, they also become the first team to storm into the Semi Finals of the Cricket World Cup 2025.
Do join us again tomorrow as the action shifts to Colombo, where Sri Lanka will take on South Africa in what promises to be another exciting World Cup encounter. For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide who, along with scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal & statistician Aman brought all the updates of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYEπ

Alyssa Healy (Australia Women Captain): "I think Bangladesh have proven a lot in this World Cup that they are hard to remove at times. We tried our best. We didn't execute it that well. I thought I was a little bit poor behind the stumps today. We take the 2 points, we move on and focus on the next game.
It's so hard. It is what it is. I was a little bit disappointed with my glovework today. I had a bit to makeup with the bat but luckily we got the job done.
(On catches going down) Maybe it has been that kind of a tournament actually. We have been here and there. That's something which we will surely reflect on. We go to a new venue after this. Big fixture coming up against England. The girls will be ready for that.
(On Alana King) Well, it was just amazing from her. Her ability to attack both sides of the bat is pretty impressive. It was great to see her dominate with the ball today.
We just don't give people a go just like that (laughs). All of them are just awesome. I thought Darcie was just excellent with the new ball. We will assess the conditions and then see which XI will be the best for our next game.
(On the opening partnership) It's been great. Phoebs (Litchfield) looks to be taking all the pressure off me actually. She makes batting look so easy. We started really well in this game as well as in the last game. Hopefully that gives us some confidence moving onto the next game. I though she was outstanding today.
(On qualifying for the Semis) We have? Oh, thank you! We are proud of ourselves on our professionalism. We have been very clinical on key moments of the game. We have two big games coming up. We will give our best and then we will see what unfolds."
Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women Captain): "How we started, we started very well. Just one wicket down in the powerplay. But we kept losing wickets from there on.
The way we batted in the last game, we didn't do it today. The intent wasn't there and that cost us. We missed two strike bowlers and we have to work on that.
We just wanted Haider to give the opportunity to keep. Sometimes, you have to change things and try our best.
It was a bad day for the bowlers. They have been doing well for the team for the last few years. It was a rough day for them.
It's important to recover from this game. We have to learn from this game and rectify ourselves. We have to take positives from the last game."
Alana King (Player of the Match):"Yeah, I was really happy with how the ball was coming out. We spoke about how we have to be disciplined and we are happy with our effort.
There was spin in the last game by which I get excited about. Length is always the key. We have to stay away from the step hit region. We got punished a bit in the last game.
I tried to stay relaxed at the top of my mark and stay clear with my plans. I'm happy with how they are coming out and I'm happy to play my role.
The beauty of this team is that if one of us is not having a good day, someone will pull up the slack. Healy has the best seat in the house on what lengths to bowl. We want best for each other. Communication is key and we pride ourselves on that.
It's good to see the 'Q' in front of you in World Cups. But the job is not done yet. We will go to Indore to face England and South Africa.
Having Midge behind the stumps. The other spinners that come before me. The communication is key. What lengths to bowl. What speeds to bowl."
