That marks the end of our coverage from the 13th match of the ongoing Intercontinental Legends Championship. Euro Gladiators have defeated the African Lions comfortably by 6 wickets. For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Deepak Prakash and Aditya Agarwal and our scoring associates Bishal Mandal and Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Good night.
Akshay Wakhare (Player of the Match and Euro Gladiators Captain):"Very happy with the performance. When the team required, I delivered and it makes me happy. It is a proud moment for us.
As a bowling unit, we have to grind every time. Raghav and Adil are doing well everyday for us and hope they continue doing it."
Herschelle Gibbs (African Lions Captain) : "I think we needed some intensity tonight. We showed up intent in the past matches but not today I guess. We should have posted 160-170. I think we will learn from the conditions and them come back stronger for the next season.
I had a really good experience here at the ILC 2025. The quality of the cricket here is good too."
Player of the Match: Akshay Wakhare
Game Changer of the Match: Raghav Dhawan

African Lions went to bat first and the pair of Sekhar Sirohi and Rahul Yadav gave their side a good start in the powerplay. They registered 42 runs for the opening stand before Sirohi got out. Sirohi scored 30 off 14 balls. Rahul Yadav scored 37 off 30 balls but the fatal jolt received by the Lions was the failure of their middle order. Ali Murtaza's late flourish of 34 runs off 22 balls propelled the team score to 144/8.
Akshay Wakhare was the star of the bowlers. He picked up 4 wickets for 14 runs in his 3 overs. Abu Nechim and Narender Singh took a wicket each.
Coming to chase the 145-run target, Raghav Dhawan and Adil Reshi started to get boundaries right from the start. The score runs at 11 runs per over in the powerplay and that created the difference between the two sides. Raghav Dhawan got out for 53 off 28 balls hitting 7 fours and 2 sixes. He became the victim of Sudeep Tyagi and in the same over, Tyagi got the better of Sarul Kanwar.
Adil Reshi however stood strong and anchored the run chase. His partner Gaurav Dhiman struggled and scored just 10 runs off 18 balls. Praveen Gupta got out for just 4 runs. Adil remained unbeaten and finished the chase remaining unbeaten on 68 off 45 balls. He hit 10 fours and 2 maximums.
