That's it from the third game of the Intercontinental Legends Championship! A dominating performance from the Euro Gladiators to kick start their season! Thank you for joining us. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Pritam Dey and scorers Bishal Mandal & Chandan Kumar Singh. Stay tuned for more action from around the world.
Akshay Wakhare (Euro Gladiators Captain): "It was a great feeling as we started the tournament with a win. We want to continue with the same momentum for the next game.
I think scoring so much runs in that wicket, was an outstanding job. It made things very easy for our bowlers who managed to defend the target. Really happy with the performance from everyone."
Tillakaratne Dilshan (Asian Kings Captain):"We dropped more than 4-5 catches. It became difficult to comeback. We have to look up that area. Fielding disappointed us. We will take it simple. It is the first game. We need to play well in all 3 departments to come strong tomorrow."
Adil Reshi (Player of the Match): "Thank you so much. I am really happy. I am not used to bat that higher up the order. The management told me to bat in the middle order and I am happy to contribute for my side.
I was waiting for the loose deliveries and wanted to smash them out of the park. I would like to dedicate this award to my two sons."
Player of the Match: Adil Reshi
10:58 PM: Time for the Post-Match Presentation!
10:50 PM: The Euro Gladiators hold their nerves and defend their total of 194/5 as the bowling attack puts up a spirited performance to keep Asian Kings at bay.
Opener Raghav Dhawan hit 66 runs in 41 balls with Gaurav Dhiman scoring 36 in 23 balls. Adil Reshi hit an unbeaten 44 in 20 balls to help the Gladiators finish their innings despite Imtiaz Ahmed and Shadab Jakati bowling good tidy spells.
The Asian Kings captain Tillakaratne Dilshan led the chase with a spirited 50 off 28 balls adding 70 runs with Parvez Aziz for the first wicket. Mayank Tehlan at number 3 scored 35 in 26 balls to help the team scramble towards the victory.
The spin duo of captain Akshay Wakhare and Praveen Gupta brought the side back in the hunt as the Kings' numbers 4 to 8 failed to manage to get into double digits and slumped from 70/0 to 128/9.
Adil Reshi picked up 3 wickets in his first over itself but it was Diwesh Pathania who smoked 1 four and 4 sixes to hit 32 off 10 balls in the end but Abu Nechim returning for the 18th over had him caught off a slower ball to seal the 31-run win for the Euro Gladiators.
