That's it from a compelling encounter in the T20 Blast 3rd Quarter Final. Lancashire Lightning march one step closer to the Final's Day. Commiserations for the Spitfires and Sam Billings, the captain who did three-peat in the Men's Hundred, a few weeks back. Four more matches left in the T20 Blast this season and some enthralling contest in the tourney awaits.

This is Arijit Kundu signing off on behalf of co-commentator Saptak Sanyal and scorer Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Adios fellow audience.
Liam Livingstone (Player of the Match): "It was a big blow to be honest but thankfully I took the team home.

I think the pitch was a little bit too hard for someone who has not played much cricket here. We were  not too worried about that. We tried to keep the wickets as much as we could. The key was to take the wickets in middle. I think they were 5 or 10 under par.

I have always said that I always enjoy to go there inside the powerplay. I have the experience of batting in the lower order. I also know to change the pace in the middle order. But now I want to improve my powerplay game. Thankfully I took the team home.

Certainly my time at Lancashire has been good. It's been ten years. On the ten years anniversary I hope it stays good."

10:01 PM IST and 5:01 PM Local Time: Lancashire Lightning douse the Kent Spitfires to spoil Sam Billings' healthy winning record in franchise tourneys  that has been making the rounds of late. Lancashire Lightning beat them by three wickets, courtesy of a special knock from an extraordinary cricketer named Loan Livingstone. He came in to bat when they were 31/3 inside the powerplay, as Fred Klaassen spat venom with the ball. Phil Salt, Keaton Jennings, Luke Wells departed early before Livingstone was assisted by Ashton Turner for 27 balls, gathering 53 runs together.

Livingstone accelerated after being hurt on the head. It sounded like the alarming moment for him to steer his side home and give the fans something to cheer about.

The Spitfires struggled with the ball to get rid of him, albeit Mark Parkinson bagged a couple of wickets in the 14th over to bring hopes for Kent. However Jack Blatherwick helped Livingstone face majority of the balls to set up a chase with nine balls remaining.

Earlier, Luke Wood removed Tawanda Muyeye on the first ball of the contest before James Anderson added another scalp inside a 54-run powerplay. There were brisk partnerships evolving but the Lancashire bowlers ensured to break each of those before it could be impactful enough to rule them off the contest.

Long partnerships weren't formed and the Lightning bowlers controlled each phase well except for the slog overs where they let the Lightning reach 153 from a position when the score read 81/5 at the halfway stage. Wood was the pick of the bowlers with a three-fer and Livingstone was impeccable, returning with 4-0-21-2.
