2:00 AM IST, 9:30 PM Local Time: What a game it is. Yorkshire kept their calm as they went over the line by beating Leicestershire by two wickets. 10 runs were required off the final two balls and Matt Milnes smashed two biggies to take his side home. As a result, Leicestershire have been knocked out of the race of the quarterfinals.
Yorkshire had an awful start to their innings in the chase by losing William Luxton in the first over. Soon, James Wharton and Dawid Malan too went back to the hut. And Harry Duke was the last man to depart inside the powerplay.
However, it was when Abdullah Shafique took over the centre stage with Matthew Revis. The duo not just had some partnership, but their 112-run partnership for the 5th-wicket brought Yorkshire into play.
Shafique lost his calm against Rehan Ahmed, before Revis was removed by Josh Hull.
Will Sutherland and Jordan Thompson then played some lusty blows to keep the game alive. However, Hull and Logan van Beek had different plans against the duo.
With 13 runs needed against the likes of two tailenders, Milnes and Jafer Chohan showed their mettle. The former smashed Van Beek for two towering sixes to take his side over the line.
With this line, Yorkshire have ended the season with five victories and 18 points. While Leicestershire have dropped down to seventh place with six victories (a no-result game) and 26 points.
