That's all from this enthralling contest, folks! Surrey edged past Sussex in a high-scoring thriller. For now, it's me, Deepak Prakash, signing off on behalf of scorer/analyst Asraj Khan. Special mention to my good friend, Pritam Dey, for chipping in during the crunch situation of the match. CHEERS!
Here are the Eight Quarter-Finalists in the T20 Blast 2025:

SOUTH GROUP - Surrey, Somerset, Hampshire, Kent

NORTH GROUP - Lancashire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Durham

Plenty of fireworks in store as the knockout stage gets underway on 3rd September with the much-anticipated quarter-finals!
2:02 AM IST, 9:32 PM Local Time: PHEW! What a thrilling finish at Hove! The match went right down to the wire, but in the end, Chris Jordan held his nerve brilliantly to defend 13 runs in the final over. Surrey held on to clinch a nail-biting 7-run victory. With this win, Surrey not only extended their winning streak to five matches but also sealed their position at the top of the South Group table. On the other hand, Sussex have been eliminated from the tournament, as Kent thumped Essex by 7 wickets in Canterbury to secure the fourth place from the south group.

Earlier, after opting to bat first, Ryan Patel and Will Jacks, the opening duo, got Surrey off to a rapid start, bringing up 65 runs in the powerplay. Patel contributed a breezy 30 from just 17 deliveries before falling in the seventh over.

Jason Roy then joined Jacks and added a crucial 97-run stand, keeping the scoring rate high. Roy’s 35 off 26 ensured the pressure remained on the Sussex bowlers. Even after Roy's dismissal in the 17th over, Surrey kept the tempo going. Will Jacks hammered a scintillating century off just 59 balls. His knock was laced with 12 boundaries and 3 maximums. Sam Curran smashed 14 off just 7 balls.

Tom Curran added a fiery finishing touch with a 6-ball 17, including 2 boundaries and a six, helping Surrey post 204/5 in 20 overs.

Nathan McAndrew was the most successful bowler, picking up two key wickets, including that of Jacks. Henry Crocombe chipped in with two scalps of his own but went at over 9 an over, while James Coles picked up one. All bowlers struggled to contain Surrey's aggressive batting unit, with everyone conceding above 9 runs per over.

Chasing a daunting target of 205 for victory, Sussex fought valiantly but fell just 7 runs short, ending their innings at 197/7 in 20 overs, as the match went down to the wire at Hove.

It was Daniel Hughes who set the tone early with a commanding 75 off 43 balls, laced with 11 fours and a six. He added a 69-run stand with Tom Clark, who chipped in with an impressive 41 off 30.

Will Jacks (2/27) trapped Hughes to provide a much-needed breakthrough for Surrey. James Coles played a fiery cameo of 39 off just 18 balls to keep Sussex in the hunt, but Sam Curran ran through the middle order with a brilliant spell of 4/18 in 3 overs. Curran’s 8 runs and a couple of wickets in the penultimate over reduced the equation to 13 needed off the final over.

In a pressure situation, Chris Jordan held his nerve superbly and defended the total, conceding just 5 runs in the last over and dismissing John Simpson (18).
