So, that’s a wrap from this game between Worcestershire and Leicestershire.
This is me, Hiren Kumar, signing off on behalf of my scorer Suresh Kumawat.
See you next time — Good night and goodbye! 👋
After being put into bat, Leicestershire had a shaky start, losing two quick wickets in the opening overs. Rehan Ahmed (32 off 26) and skipper Louis Kimber (32 off 18) offered some resistance in the middle, but it was Ben Cox who stole the show. His unbeaten 70 off 44 balls powered the Foxes to a competitive 173/6.
With the ball, Worcestershire were excellent early on, led by Tom Taylor, who picked up 3/25 in his 4 overs. However, they did leak runs at the death to let Leicestershire finish strong.
In response, Worcestershire started confidently with a 50-run opening stand. Gareth Roderick chipped in with a quick 26 off 13, but it was Ethan Brookes who played the match-winning hand. His explosive 56 off 28* sealed the chase with two overs to spare.
It’s a convincing win for the Rapids, while Leicestershire’s quarter-final hopes now hang by a thread after this damaging defeat.
