That's all from this contest, folks. For now, it's me, Deepak Prakash, signing off on behalf of scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. CHEERS!
2:06 AM IST, 9:36 PM Local Time: Somerset avenge their earlier loss to Kent in the 2025 T20 Blast with a 5-wicket win, sealing the chase with 9 balls to spare.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Kent got off to a shaky start, losing Tawanda Muyeye (0), Harry Finch (1), and Sam Billings (11) in quick succession. Joe Denly and Chris Benjamin attempted to steady the innings but struggled to maintain a brisk scoring rate. Benjamin was dismissed for 20 by Goldsworthy, breaking the budding partnership, while Denly also failed to bat through, falling 10 runs short of his fifty.

Play was halted for nearly 20 minutes due to direct sunlight in the batters’ eyes. Upon resumption, Kent found it difficult to accelerate and lost a couple of wickets in the death overs. However, a 15-run final over helped them reach a respectable total of 137/8 in their 20 overs.

Riley Meredith (3/19) shone with the ball for Somerset, claiming three crucial wickets. Ben Green chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Craig Overton and Lewis Goldsworthy celebrated a solitary wicket.

Chasing a modest target of 138 set by Kent, Somerset batters displayed a composed effort to overhaul the total with 9 balls to spare. Despite losing Tom Kohler-Cadmore early for just 2 runs, Will Smeed (36 off 30) and Lewis Gregory (37 off 23) played impactful knocks to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Captain Lewis Gregory took charge in the middle overs with a flurry of boundaries and ensured there were no major hiccups in the chase. Tom Abell remained unbeaten on 34 off 28 balls, anchoring the innings from one end. Contributions from Lewis Goldsworthy (14) and Ben Green (6*) helped them cross the line at 138/5 in 18.3 overs.

For Kent, Joey Evison stood out with the ball, finishing with 1/15 in his three overs. Matthew Parkinson (1/28) and Nathan Gilchrist (1/12) also chipped in with wickets, but the total on board wasn't enough to put Somerset under real pressure.
