For the first time in 14 years, The White Rose has held sway in a T20 Blast game at the Old Trafford. Yorkshire thump Lancashire in a high scoring fest and keep their hopes of a quarterfinal berth alive.

We hope that you enjoyed the coverage as much as we did bringing it to you. The commentators were Darpan Tikiya and Utsav Chandak. The scorer was Chandan Kumar Singh. Goodbye! 👋
Keaton Jennings (Lancashire captain): "We came against two guys (Bairstow and Luxton) who had a day out. But we did not execute as well as we would have liked. Couple of catches in the field went down. That could be the difference in the end. We were fractionally off. Sunday is a big game against old foe Durham. Hopefully we can pull it back."
Dawid Malan(Yorkshire Captain): "Great win, First win in what? 14 years. Jonny's innings was fantastic to watch. Jafer is a key player for us. We missed him when he missed the two games due to injury. Thompson has had a rough season so far, but he was brilliant today.

We have to play good cricket. The next 3-4 matches can go our way and you never know we have a chance."
Jonny Bairstow(Player of the match): "Yes it is great fun playing here. I told the side that something needs to change. We need to focus on basics like watching the ball. Thankfully, it came out well for me tonight. We will look forward to Sunday.

Yeah, Luxy is a brilliant batsman. We are very lucky to have him in our playing 11. He is a really talented player."
2:35 AM IST, 10:05 AM local time: Yorkshire win by 19 runs.

In what has otherwise been a dismal T20 season for them, tonight Yorkshire have put in a performance that will linger in the minds of their fans for a long time to come. For the last 14 years they have come to the Old Trafford to compete in what is famously called "The Roses" derby and ended up as the second best team. Not tonight.

The showstopper was, of course, Jonny Bairstow — who scored a thrilling century. Much like he usually does, the big right-hander threw his bat at anything even remotely outside off. But it was a moment in the second over that seemed to have awakened the beast in him. Bairstow charged down first ball to his old England mate James Anderson and copped it in the midriff. Then, he swatted the next one for six and never looked back. His ball striking was belligerent and the Lancashire bowlers did not seem to have any answers.

He also had a partner in crime. While Bairstow's knock was about brute power, young William Luxton's 90 had that with a dash of elegance to it. He not only went toe to toe with big Jonny but also eclipsed him for a brief period in that during their massive 167-run partnership. Of course the pitch was a batter's paradise, but even when the bowlers made something happen, the fielders did not give the desired support. Lancashire dropped a bazillion chances and you've heard it several times before — "Catches win matches".

However, the hosts did not seem completely out of the contest chasing the big score. At least, till the time Jos Buttler was in the middle. Him and Phil Salt notched up effervescent knocks that were studded with robust strikes that the two wicket-keeper batters are known for. It was Jordon Thompson who dismissed both and turned the game back into the favour of the visitors.

And we obviously have to mention Yorkshire's fielding, which was studded with some Superman-esque efforts today. Dom Bess' two excellent catches, James Wharton's outstanding diving grab and of course Will Sutherland's bunny hop at the boundary — all these were almost as important as the knocks from Bairstow and Luxton.
