That’s all from this one-sided contest, folks! Guyana Amazon Warriors have registered their first win of the tournament, while Central Stags have lost two in two. For now, it’s me, Deepak Prakash, signing off on behalf of co-commentator Saptak Sanyal and scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. CHEERS!
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "Look you are always pleased when you get the win. We played well. The better team always learn from the mistake and comeback in the next game.

I am very happy with Andrew. I saw him in the nets when I came here. He is a very talented guy. I had a chat with him for some time and it is great to see him performing.

Look we know Pretorius gave us a really good start. So I decided to come earlier. Sometime you have to play the gamble. Glad that it paid off. Everyone chipped in and their contributions set the tone for us.

The crowd, the spectators have been amazing. I am grateful to every Guyanese who came here to support us. They have been very supportive."
Tom Bruce (Central Stags Captain): "(On his injured leg) Yeah, I think I just hyper-extended the knee — a bit of a double blow, really, running myself out and injuring myself in the process. But hopefully, with some ice on it, it should be fine.

Yeah, look, I think we were much improved with the ball and in the field. But with the bat, we were a bit too frantic — some of the shot selections weren’t ideal, especially against a world-class bowling attack. Hopefully, the boys can learn quickly. It’s a short tournament, and with two games still to go, there’s definitely a chance for us to bounce back.

Yeah, absolutely. Like I said, I think it was a much-improved performance compared to yesterday. At the ten-over mark, things could have gone south pretty quickly — it could’ve turned ugly. But credit to the boys, they bounced back well and fought hard in the field. Definitely a much better effort overall.

Yeah, look, I think it's all about going back to basics and keeping things simple. It's about understanding your plan against each bowler and figuring out how we’re going to score runs. We know that 150 to 160 is a competitive target here, so it’s about executing our plans properly. We’ve discussed it as a group — now it’s just about putting those words into action."
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Player of the Match): "First of all thanks to the almighty. A long time later I've scored a fifty. There was plan from the coaches and I was discussing with the teammates about how to go. Happy that the plans paid off.

Jewel is an unbelievable player. I think he is going to be the star in next two years. A terrific runner between the wickets. I feel Guyana is my home country. Whenever I come here, Guyana fans always support me. I am playing CPL for quite a long time for this franchise and got great support."
Player of the Match: Rahmanullah Gurbaz
8:22 AM IST, 10:52 PM Local Time: A dismal batting performance from Central Stags saw them bundled out for just 92 runs in 14.2 overs, falling to a heavy 66-run defeat. Chasing 159 for victory, the Stags never looked in control as the Guyana Amazon Warriors bowlers kept striking at regular intervals. With this dominant win, the Warriors bounced back strongly after their loss in the first game and secured their first points of the tournament.

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, the Guyana Amazon Warriors posted a fighting total of 158/6 in their 20 overs, thanks to crucial contributions from Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Jewel Andrew. Despite losing Johnson Charles (8) and Moeen Ali (6) early, Gurbaz anchored the innings with a composed 58 off 47 balls, laced with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Jewel Andrew provided a much-needed boost in the middle overs, scoring a brisk 45 off 29 balls, while Sherfane Rutherford chipped in with 16* off 15 at the back end. However, Guyana lost wickets at regular intervals, especially in the final overs, which denied them a late flourish.

Matthew Forde stood out with the ball for Central Stags, finishing with 2/34, while Angus Schaw chipped in with a couple of wickets. Tickner and Clarkson also contributed with a wicket each, helping their side restrict Guyana to under 160 runs.

In response, Central Stags got off to a horrible start as they lost wickets in clusters from the word go and were tottering at 37/5 in the 7th over. Dane Cleaver, Dean Foxcroft, Tom Bruce, Josh Clarkson, and William Clark all fell in single digits.

Matthew Forde joined Will Young in the middle and attempted to steady the innings. Forde looked in fine touch and played a few crisp strokes, but just as the partnership began to gain momentum, David Wiese struck to dismiss Forde for 24, halting their progress and breaking the budding stand.

Will Young (26), who opened the innings, tried to anchor the chase from one end but kept losing partners at regular intervals. The Guyana Amazon Warriors bowlers maintained relentless pressure, striking at crucial moments and dismantling the Central Stags batting lineup. In the end, the Stags were bundled out for just 92 runs in 14.2 overs.

Skipper Imran Tahir starred with the ball for the Guyana Amazon Warriors, with the veteran leggie claiming 4 wickets for just 23 runs in his 4-over spell. Dwaine Pretorius bagged three wickets, while David Wiese contributed a couple of wickets to the collapse.

Stay tuned for the presentation....
