That marks our coverage from the TNPL 2025. iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans have emerged out victorious by defeating Dindigul Dragons by 118 runs in the summit clash and clinched their maiden TNPL title. Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore-led side has been clinical throughout the season and came to meet another clinical side in the final. They did better in the final and are the deserving winners of the title.
This edition of TNPL has given Tamil Nadu a lot of promising cricketers. Amith Sathvik, Tushar Raheja, Esakkimuthu A, Vimal Khumar are the names who have shown the promise.
For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ajay Pal Singh and the scorer/analyst of this game Paras Yadav. Good night!
Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore receives the winner's trophy and goes to join his teammates. Celebrations galore, fireworks go up. iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans are the champions of TNPL 2025. Every first is a special, so this title is for the Tiruppur Tamizhans.
R Sai Kishore (iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans Captain): "Undoubtedly. First time in the finals, to play like this, all the credit goes to the players. Overall, team has done well in the last 2-3 years. I was in a learning phase in captaincy, I would not say I have learned it all but I have become a bit better at decision making.
Nattu and Simbla did the job with the ball. Amith and Raheja gave us good starts. It was an overall team effort throughout the season."
Time for the winning team iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans to collect their mementos.
Ravichandran Ashwin (Dindigul Dragons Captain):"I want to say a big thank you to the crowd. Thank you everyone for being here. Yes we lost by a long way. We have batted well, fielded well throughout the tournament. But a lot of learnings. Atul came out today and showed promise. Next up we will see what we can do in the next edition.
See I think we stayed true to who we are as a franchise. Somebody like Karthik Saran is a good take away. Hunny Saini is a good take away. I am fond of looking for new opportunities. Sandeep Warrier and Shivam Singh were not fit for the finals but the guys fought well. Special mentions to Varun Chakaravarthy.
We thought RK Jain will go a long way. Sandeep Warrier's presence was crucial for us in the powerplay. We saw Bhuvaneshwar to do well in the nets and picked him up. I hope the pitches will be better next year. The ball will come better onto the bat.
They are a fantastic side. Had a terrific side. Sai led the side beautifully. Esakkimuthu is the find of the season. Their batting was well equipped with Tushar Raheja and Amith Sathvik. We were not that good enough to put up a fight. Many congratulations to iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans for their first TNPL title."
Dindigul Dragons players are coming up to the stage one by one to receive their runners up medals.
Match officials of the grand finale receive their mementos.
Tushar Raheja (Player of the Tournament): "I try to tell myself that it was just another match. I have been enjoying batting with Sathvik. I am enjoying the freedom the management has given us. We have been batting well for the last 2-3 years together.
Last year, I missed the Orange cap, I had my eyes on it. During the auction, lot of people wrote us off. Sai led us brilliantly.
First match, we lost and we weren't thinking of winning or losing the tournament. It is a young team, brilliantly led by Sai once again. (When asked if he's ready for IPL now) I would like to focus on my division cricket first (chuckles).
