The Grand Cholas tried hard but it wasn't meant to be for them as they suffer their second straight loss in this edition of Tamil Nadu Premier League.
Trichy Grand Cholas got off to a disastrous start in the chase of 180. S Sujay (4), skipper J Suresh Kumar (0), HI Waseem Ahmed (16) and U Mukilesh (2) departed inside the powerplay. Jagatheesan Kousik and Sanjay Yadav tried to resurrect the innings before the latter fell on 11 in the ninth over.
Impact sub Jafar Jamal was dismissed cheaply on two as the Grand Cholas were reeling at 49/6 at the end of 10 overs. The pair of Kousik and R Rajkumar kept their side in the game. Rajkumar hit five fours and as many maximums to score 26-ball 59 before getting dismissed in the 17th over.
