That's it from this encounter. The commentator duo of Arijit Kundu and Ninad Dixit signing off along with scorer Yogesh Kumar. See Ya!
Nikit Dhumal (Player of the Match): "I was a part of the Jets for the last two years. So we had plans written down for all the opposition batters. There was some seam movement as well. I got Azim Kazi with seam movement."
Player of the Match: Nikit Dhumal
Yash Kshirsagar (Puneri Bappa Captain): "Losing the toss was most important part here. It turned into blessing in disguise. It is evident DLS method helps the team bowling first. Our openers and bowlers clicked today. If we carry the momentum through, we are a strong team. For not only younger boys, anyone who is performing has this as a big platform thanks to MCA."
Azim Kazi (Ratnagiri Jets Captain): "We had the plan to bat first, it was pretty simple. We were not relying on the weather. It was a rain-curtailed game, and such short games often gets advantageous to the chasing side. We will sit down with the management and team members, and have a chat about it. It's a big tournament, and it takes one match to turn it around. We have the believe in our boys and its just a matter of one game."
6:06 PM IST: The Puneri Bappa open their account with a win over the Ratnagiri Jets. They win by eight wickets in an eight-over per side rain-shortened encounter. This is also their first-ever victory in the league's history over the Jets.

Aiming to chase down a DLS revised target of 71 runs, Yash Nahar and Murtaza Trunkwala kicked off the innings on a high. They hammered the new ball bowlers to major parts of the ground, forging a 51-run stand before the first wicket in the sixth over. However, it was too late for the defending side as the Jets bowlers made basic errors, including wides, no-balls, DRS botches, and offering overthrow runs. Eventually, it was just a matter of time before Sahil Autade and Suraj Shinde finished things off.

Batting first, the Ratnagiri Jeta got off to a strong start by getting a couple of fours and a six off Dhiraj Phatangare's blade. However, Nikita Dhumal's introduction in the third wicket extracted a couple of wickets before rain forced a halt for almost two hours. Right after, the game got reduced to an eight over per side contest and Nikhil Naik's 13-ball 31 cameo steered them to 69/4.

Nb Winning runs off Sahil's bat. Full and outside the off. The batter digs it to mid on and crosses over in haste. For the first time, Puneri Bappa have defeated the Ratnagiri Jets in the Maharashtra Premier League. The umpire signals a no-ball lately. It is not going to affect the result of the match anyway.
