So that concludes our coverage from the inaugural match of the 3rd season of the Maharashtra Premier League. Eagle Nashik Titans have started the season on a high as they have defeated the Ratnagiri Jets by 8 wickets.

For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Good night.
Mandar Bhandari (Player of the Match): "It was a good game. We wanted to have a good powerplay. Arshin and me discussed that one of us will hit and if one gets out, other will finish the game. You know it is important to get a good start in the tournament. We started with a victory and hopefully we can carry on with the momentum."
Player of the Match: Mandar Bhandari
Prashant Solanki (Eagle Nashik Titans Captain): "It was a good game for us. The condition was not that easy. Dew factor was there. I wish we got the opportunity to change the ball. Credit goes to Mandar bhai. He has batted brilliantly.

He is very pleasing to the eye. When he gets settled, it is difficult for the batters to find a way to go forward. I have bowled to Mandar bhai and what makes difficult to bowl him is his wide range of shots."
Time for the post-match presentations.
Azim Kazi (Ratnagiri Jets Captain): "Toss made the factor. Wicket was a bit sticky at the start. Credit goes to Dhiraj. He batted till the end and played responsibly. The target was not less. Credit goes to Mandar for batting brilliantly. It is crucial to take the catches.

I have played a lot of cricket with Mandar. When you drop his catch multiple times, somebody of his calibre will take the game away from you. I hope we do better in the fielding from the next match."
11:53 PM IST | Eagle Nashik Titans have taken the revenge of the defeat in the last year's summit clash. They started their campaign in this season with a victory by 8 wickets. Mandar Bhandari has been the chief architect of the victory with his unbeaten 112-run innings.

After losing the toss, the Jets were pushed to bat first. Preetam Patil started the innings with a couple of maximums but Mukesh Choudhary got the better of him. After that, Dhiraj Phatangare and Azim Kazi registered a 75-run partnership between them. Azim Kazi was the aggressor as Dhiraj played the anchor's role throughout the innings. Kazi got out on 42 off 31 balls. Nikhil Naik replaced Kazi and got off the mark with a boundary first ball. But after that he could manage only 10 runs from the next 13 balls.

Dhiraj Phatangare and Divyang Hinganekar were the batters who played the spinners in the middle overs. Akshay Waikar dried the boundaries up and Hinganekar departed for 20. Kiran Chormale got off the mark with a maximum but got dismissed soon. Abhishek Pawar hit Mukesh Choudhary for 10 runs in the 4 balls he faced off him. Dhiraj Phatangare was the star with the bat. He took 18 runs from the final over and finished unbeaten on 81 off 47 balls and Ratnagiri Jets posted 194 from their 20 overs losing 6 wickets..

Mukesh Choudhary was the best bowler for the Titans. He ended with 3 wickets for 43 runs. Manoj Ingale, Prashant Solanki and Akshay Waikar took a wicket each. Akshay Waikar conceded just 26 runs from his 4 overs.

When Eagle Nashik Titans came to chase the target, Arshin Kulkarni struggled heavily right from the beginning. But the courtesy goes to Mandar Bhandari for not letting the pressure fall on the team. He kept the scoreboard ticking with frequent boundaries. In the 122-run partnership for the first wicket, Arshin contributed 29 off 32 balls but Mandar's onslaught made the going easy for the Titans. Arshin was dismissed off Jets' skipper Azim Kazi.

Arshin's dismissal brought the prodigious Sahil Parakh in the crease. Sahil and Mandar took the bowlers on together and added 68 runs off just 35 balls. Mandar got to his well deserved hundred, his second in the tournament. Sahil took on the pacers in the death but he fell agonizingly short of his half-century. Nevertheless, his 46 off 22 balls proved to be extremely effective in the run chase. Mandar Bhandari remained unbeaten on 112 facing 56 balls and hit 12 fours and 6 maximums on his way. His innings created the difference between the two sides. Eagle Nashik Titans chased the 195-run target with 10 balls to spare.
