That's it from a fantastic comeback game for South Africa in the 5-match series. The series stands level 1-1 after two bouts with match number 3 scheduled on Sunday at Dharamsala. Plenty of positives for South Africa with their pacers coming together to claim 10 wickets and Quinton de Kock hitting form again. Plenty of concerns for India as their batting order continues to crumble, the pacers also had a rare off day getting no wicket on a surface where the opposition pace attack picked all 10! Some good signs with Tilak Varma and Varun Chakaravarthy mastering their craft but India will need a bit more effort as a unit to go up in the series at Dharamsala.

On that note, it's time to say goodbye! Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Dev Rajawat, scorer Bishal Mandal and statistician Aman. Stay tuned for more action from around the world.

Quinton de Kock (Player of the Match): "It’s been a bit of a weird run for me - some low scores, some big ones, but when I do get going, I just try to make it count.

Honestly, the record against India is mostly because we play each other so often, and always on good wickets.

About Arshdeep, yeah, he’s got me out plenty of times in pretty much the same way, so today was just about being aware of that one technical thing and then letting my game flow.

The wicket felt slow upfront, the ball was taking its time to reach the bat, and any new batter would’ve found it tough, so Aiden and I just focused on hanging in and building a stand.

Later, when India batted, it quickened up and became two-paced, so the conditions changed a bit, and that’s really what separated the two innings."
PLAYER OF THE MATCH: QUINTON DE KOCK
Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain): "Much better tonight. Started off with the bat. Special knock from Quinny and some handy contributions in the end. The bowlers were good in the first game and even better today. They are training in the right direction which is a good thing to see. Naturally the fielding point of view, the first 2 games have gone well.

[the pitch] It was good. Something there for the bowlers when the ball was in the right area. If a batter got in, as we saw with Quinton and Tilak, they could put the bowlers under pressure. A good wicket, nice sized field as well, great support for India and a nice game to be part of.

[on changes in the XI] It's never easy. You as a player just want to get given 3-4 games and get some momentum. It's also to do with how busy our summer looks now building up to the World Cup. Making sure we have our best available XI to pick for. Some guys are obviously resting, some guys we are trying to rotate to give a fair chance. By the time SA20 is done, everyone gets enough game time and we can come to the World Cup ready.

You put your hand up to do whatever job the team needs you to do. That role was needed to be filled at 5. I batted a bit in the middle order in the past few years. You are never bigger than the team and that's a really important thing. Not just myself but a lot of the guys look at that way and it's a good trait as a team.

We will reflect. My knock in the middle, I would probably like to maximize those balls a little better but we will reflect and try to start fresh again in Dharamsala."
Suryakumar Yadav (India Captain): "It just didn’t go our way today, apart from the toss. Maybe I should’ve batted after winning it, but it’s fine. We bowled first and couldn’t quite adjust early on, and only later did we realise how important the lengths were on this wicket. It’s a learning process, and we move forward.

There was a bit of dew, yes, but even then, when Plan A wasn’t working, we should’ve switched quicker. South Africa showed us exactly how to bowl in the second innings, and we’ll take that into the next game.

With the bat, me and Shubman should’ve taken more responsibility. Abhishek’s been brilliant, but we can’t expect him to do it every time. Shubman got out first ball, but I should’ve batted deeper and controlled the chase.

As for the Axar move, we backed him because he’s been batting well across formats - just didn’t click tonight. Tough luck, but we learn and get better from here. See you in Dharamshala."
