ANDDDDD... Australia Women were simply better across the three days. Their bowlers struck early. Their batters built partnerships. And their fielding held strong. India showed glimpses - Rodriguesâ fifty, Rawalâs resilience, but Australia controlled the narrative. The WACA witnessed a commanding Test victory.
Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentator, Karthik Raj, scorer Asraj Khan, and statistician Aman. Thatâs it from our side. Thanks for joining. But cricket doesnât sleep. Plenty is happening around the world. Switch tabs, follow the fun. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!!!!!
With the series victory secured at the W.A.C.A., the trophy has been officially handed to Alyssa Healy, sparking a wave of celebration across the ground. One by one, the Australian players beamed with pride as they walked over the podium to join their captain, marking the end of a dominant performance where they sealed a 10-wicket win.
The atmosphere is electric, reflecting the culmination of hard work and tactical precision that saw them dismantle the Indian challenge over three days. The celebrations reached their peak as the entire squad, alongside the dedicated support staff, gathered behind the "WINNERS" board for the iconic team photo.
It is a moment defined by genuine joy and collective pride, capturing the camaraderie of a side that saw standout contributions from the likes of Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland. Amidst the flashing cameras and cheering fans, the team savored the triumph, cementing another successful chapter in their storied rivalry against India.
THE TOUR IN REVIEW - It was a tour filled with drama. India won two of the three T20Is, while Australia dominated the ODI series 3-0, including a massive 409/7 total in Hobart. And then came this Test - Australiaâs emphatic 10-wicket victory in Perth. Different formats. Different heroes. But one clear theme - competitive cricket between two powerhouses.
ALYSSA HEALY. This Test marked the final chapter of a legendary career. She retires as one of the most influential wicket-keeper batters in womenâs cricket history. Her resume reads like a trophy cabinet - ODI World Cups in 2018 and 2022, T20 World Cups in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020, and 2023 - eight world titles in total. Leader. Fighter. Entertainer. Whether smashing hundreds in finals or guiding Australia with the gloves behind the stumps, Healy has been at the heart of countless triumphs. The curtain falls⊠but the legacy remains.
Thank you, Alyssa Healy. Cricket will miss you!!!
Alyssa Healy (Australia Women Captain):"(Winning the series) Oh yeah, really pleased with the effort. Bouncing back from the T20I series, there was a bit of uncertainty at that time. Great signs for the future. I just walked into the dressing room and Lucy Hamilton said 'I think Test cricket is my new favourite format.' Long live Test cricket and hopefully we keep seeing more.
(How it feels to wind up on her career) I am genuinely really excited to see this group led by Sophie Molineux. I think they are going to do great things and me to watch as a bitter ex-player (laughs). You just want to win games in this bubble. To be free of them through the last few weeks, it has been relief.
(Whether there was a temptation to open for the chase) No, I wanted to protect my average of 20. I have had my time in the sun. It is time for the next generation to showcase their skills.
(Her departing note) Thanks to the Indian team in what is a really hectic schedule in Women's cricket at the moment. There was the WPL and then to come over here for five weeks, it takes a lot of effort. Good luck for the T20 World Cup in the middle of the year. I have got so many great memories with this group of people not just on-field but off-field as well."
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain): (On the overall series against Australia) âDefinitely, I think we started really well, playing really good cricket in T20, and unfortunately, after that we were not able to continue. But I think it was a good series overall. Really happy playing in Australia all the time, and I think it was a great fight.
(On the multi-format series experience) It was a great one, and hopefully, in the future, weâll also keep getting these kinds of tournaments because it gives you a lot of confidence. Test cricket is something that we all really want to play, and the pink ball was something that was very challenging.
(On the support from the team staff) I think our staff and everyone have been really great. They have given us a lot of support in the entire time in our careers. And thank you to all the Indian fans and cricket fans who came here to watch us.
(On the result and looking ahead) I know today was not a great day for us, but Iâm sure in the future weâll make them proud, and hopefully weâll play good cricket in the future.â
Annabel Sutherland (Player of the Match & Player of the Series):"(How it feels to be get the awards) It is pretty special, nice to be here on Day 3 with a win and also to send Midgey (Alyssa Healy) off with a victory.
(On winning the series) Coming up against India, they really put us to test especially in the T20Is. I will take as many as I can get.
(Not playing many Tests) They are few and far between. So, take as much of the opportunity as possible. (Is it a call for more Tests?) I would say so."
Annabel Sutherland has been named as the 'Player of the Match' and the 'Player of the Series'.
Time for the post-series presentation!
Alana King: "(On her bowling performance today) Definitely Copes, happy to play my part. I love bowling here at the W.A.C.A. Glad to send Midge (Alyssa Healy) off in style.
(On Alyssa Healy's contributions to Australian cricket) She has been an incredible pillar for the team. The way she took over the captaincy and made her stamp was amazing. It's been a few but probably the 2022 50-over World Cup in New Zealand. She was incredible there. There are plenty of on-field and also off-field memories. Hopefully, that continues especially in the golf course."
