After bouncing back in style to level the series, Australia Women will be keen to seize the upper hand in the multi-format contest against India Women. The third and final T20I is set to be played at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide on Saturday (February 21).

The multi-format series is currently level at 2-2. The tour comprises three T20Is, three ODIs and a one-off Test. A win in the T20Is or ODIs fetches two points, with one point each awarded in the event of a tie, draw or no result. The solitary Test carries four points for a win and two apiece for a draw or no result.

It will be a special occasion for one of the finest players in women’s cricket — Ellyse Perry. The Australian all-rounder is set to feature in her 350th international appearance. Only two players in women’s cricket have played more internationals than Perry: India’s Harmanpreet Kaur (356) and New Zealand’s Suzie Bates (355).

In the previous game, India won the toss and opted to field in Sydney. Georgia Voll and Beth Mooney made them pay with a commanding 128-run opening partnership. Mooney fell in the 15th over for 46, but Voll carried on to score a fluent 88 off 57 balls.

Phoebe Litchfield and Ellyse Perry did not contribute significantly, but Australia still managed to post a competitive 163/5 in their 20 overs.

Arundhati Reddy was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2 for 30 from her four overs, while Renuka Singh Thakur was the only other Indian bowler to take a wicket.

In reply, Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana added 57 for the opening wicket. Shafali scored 29 off 23 balls, while Jemimah Rodrigues fell cheaply for four off six deliveries.

Harmanpreet Kaur top-scored with 36, but India kept losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually fell 19 runs short.

Ash Gardner starred with the ball, claiming 3 for 22 in her four overs. Kim Garth, Annabel Sutherland and Sophie Molineux chipped in with two wickets each.

Who will clinch the final T20I and take the overall lead in the multi-format series? Tune in at 12:45 PM IST (6:45 PM local time) for live coverage.
