It was a battle between two unbeaten sides, but the San Francisco Unicorns made light work of a huge target set by the Texas Super Kings. They chased down the 199-run target with 23 balls to spare β a dominant performance.

Matthew Short (POTM & San Francisco Unicorns Captain): "This award should go to Faf or Finn. They batted way better than I did.
It felt really nice. The wicket here has been fantastic. Nice to get the season rolling. 4 in a row now.
They are quality world class bowlers, nice to have them in our side. They did a good job in the end. Shout-out to Corey Anderson, he is out for the tournament. He has led the team brilliantly in the first three games. There's always hope. (On if he can come back at any stage this season) I think he has been ruled out with a grade 3."

Time for the post-match presentation...
Faf du Plessis (Texas Super Kings Captain): "Look, yesterday I had a net and couldn't get bat on ball. It is a nice wicket to bat on, once you are in, you need to cash in.
I was just trying to get wickets. Couple of no-balls from our side which is quite naughty from our side. We were 20-25 runs short on this wicket.
Look I think batting first, you feel one side is harder to hit because of the wind. The foundation was there to go for 20 runs more in the end."
8:54 AM IST & 10:24 PM Local Time: San Francisco Unicorns keep their unbeaten run alive in this year's Major League Cricket. Matthew Short led from the front and then a fifty from Finn Allen and Jake Fraser-McGurk's whirlwind knock made sure that the Unicorns get over the line without breaking a sweat.
Earlier in the game, Texas Super Kings batted first. Faf du Plessis scored a century but barely got support from the other end.
Devon Conway failed to get going and perished for 23. Saiteja Mukkamalla made 38 off 24. Marcus Stoinis and Daryl Mitchell fell cheaply. Calvin Savage's unbeaten knock of 19 off 10 took them to 198/5.
In the last 5 overs, TSK only scored 38 runs and lost four wickets that is where the momentum shifted.
Unicorns came out all guns blazing in the run chase. Finn Allen and Matthew Short added 117-run for the first wicket.
Short fell for 61 off 29. Allen continued on and scored 78 off 35. Jake Fraser-McGurk kept the momentum going as he made 37 off 25. Hassan Khan hit the winning runs as the Unicorns got over the line with 23 balls to spare.
