The last game at the Oakland Coliseum turned out to be a record-shattering encounter. Monank Patel registered the highest individual score by a domestic player in MLC, scoring 93 to set up a comfortable win for MI New York.

With that, we sign off from California for this edition of MLC. The cricket carnival now moves to Dallas for the next leg.

For now, that's all we have from this fixture. This is Ajay Pal Singh signing off on behalf of my colleague Ashok Dayma. Goodbye!

Nicholas Pooran (MI New York Captain): "We came here knowing, either one of will get over the line.

I mean, we keep facing same challenges. We are bowling well in certain areas of the game and then we were letting it slip. Monank and Bracewell batted well. I just felt we kept ourselves in the game, we didn't go over in the powerplay.

I have been part of the league for the last 3 years. Monank too has been with us. He is taking responsibility and taking his chances. He has been calculative. A lot of local guys have been putting their hand up which is nice for USA cricket."
Monank Patel (POTM): "Really happy with the way we played. We fought till the end, these two points are crucial for us to start our journey this season.

We have been watching games in the last few days. It becomes tough to play shots in the powerplay in the 2nd innings, I just wanted to get set before I play my strokes.

We have been talking with our batting coach. Every player has a different template and I just want to believe in my template and that's why I have been getting success.

This is a special ground, playing any international game here would be wonderful."
Player of the Match: Monank Patel
Heinrich Klaasen (Seattle Orcas Captain): "I was very pleased with the bat. I thought we batted well, one or two dots maybe at the start but that's what we set up for.

Yeah, look we can't have bread butter on both sides. That's what the team needs in this situation: guys firing at the backend.

I reckon, it is just one of the nights where the ball just didn't go to hand. We bowled well. I thought we played a better game of cricket, the ball just didn't go to hand.

I feel probably a seamer. This wicket is not turning much. I wasn't plan on bowling Kyle tonight but he did well."
9:53 AM IST & 9:23 PM Local Time: MI New York are finally off the mark in this year's Major League Cricket. They defeat Seattle Orcas by 7 wickets. It was a big chase but half-centuries from Monank Patel and Michael Bracewell got them over the line. This is also the highest run chase in MLC history.

Earlier in the game, Orcas won the toss and opted to bat. Thanks to a whirlwind knock fo 88 off 46 from Kyle Mayers and handy contributions from Shayan Jahangir (43 off 34), Heinrich Klaasen (27* off 11) and Shimron Hetmyer (21 off 9) took them to 200 for 5 from their 20 overs.

Naveen ul Haq bagged two wickets but conceded 64 runs from his four overs. Michael Bracewell, Sunny Patel and Trent Boult all picked up one wicket each.

In reply, MI New York lost Quinton de Kock cheaply. He fell for 14 off 13. Monank Patel got off to a slow start but he made up for it big time by taking down almost every bowler in the Orcas line-up.

Michael Bracewell gave him good company as they added 119 runs for the second wicket. Patel missed out on his century by just 7 runs. Nicholas Pooran walked in, hit a six and got out.

Kieron Pollard remained not out on 26 off 10 along with Bracewell, who was unbeaten on 50 off 35 to take MI over the line with an over to spare.

Sikandar Raza picked up two wickets and Kyle Mayers got one but it wasn't enough as MI New York completed a record run chase.
