Glenn Maxwell (POTM & Washington Freedom Captain): "I gave myself a chance for sure. Being a captain, you feel that responsibility and you want to carry on. I got to a position where I thought I could just go on. I had 155-160 in my mind. I feel like I was hitting well in India. Sometimes the results don't go your way.
Just a bit of time is needed to get going. I have let him down in a couple of tournaments. Playing under Ricky, we hopefully have a chance to add to last year's Trophy.
We tried to back that 6 to 8 metres length. Chopping and changing the bowlers helped as well. Netravalkar did well. Adair did well in his first game. You just have to adapt.
The attitude in the group has been outstanding. They have taken it on the chin and carried on. It can unravel a team with the number of changes we have had. I feel the boys have been resilient. They have been finding ways to win."

Jason Holder (Los Angeles Knight Riders Captain): "I thought we dropped a crucial chance in the end. We need to execute well in the end than what we did today.
We needed to set it up. We had to use the powerplay. Never got momentum in the middle.
If anything it had a little bit of variable bounce, if we had set it up better, could have given it a better crack in the end.
We just need to ask ourselves honest questions, look in the mirror, and stay positive."

Earlier in the game, Maxwell won the toss and opted to bat. Rachin Ravindra was cleaned up in the first over by Corne Dry.
Mitchell Owen played a blinder of a knock, scoring 32 off 11. Mark Chapman and Andries Gous failed to get going as they fell for 17 and 12, respectively.
Glenn Maxwell and Obus Pienaar put on an unbeaten 116-run stand for the 6th wicket to take Washington well past the 200-run mark.
