Texas Super Kings maul the Los Angeles Knight Riders to make it two wins in two games. Meanwhile, the latter continue to search for their first points this season.

We hope you enjoyed the coverage of this match as much as we did bringing it to you. It is time for the troika of Darpan Tikiya, AkshayaKrishna Polya and Ashok Dayma to sign off. Feel free to scroll below and read through the summary of the game. And in case, you are craving more MLC action, switch tabs to join the live feed of MI New York vs San Francisco Unicorns, which is about to get underway in a few minutes from now. Goodbye from here!
Faf du Plessis (Texas Super Kings captain): "Nice start. I thought we were very good with the ball on a tricky pitch. And also, in putting a score on the board. In T20, you're always thinking 'more runs, more runs' but it was a bit more trickier today. Definitely an improved bowling performance from the first game. Scratching our way to a good score on tricky wickets has been pleasing. The ground is small but the wicket is tricky, so you need to show some batsmanship which we did."
Noor Ahmad (Player of the Match): "Everywhere I go, I just try to stick to the basics and it has worked well for me. The length is important. I try to keep it in the right area. The team environment is very good on the field as well as off the field."
Noor Ahmad is the Player of the Match
Stephen Wiig gets the Play of the Day award for picking up the wicket of Alex Hales after getting hit for two successive sixes.
Matthew Tromp gets the Power-hitter of the Match award.
6:15 AM IST, 5:45 PM local time: Time for the awards presentation.
Sunil Narine (Los Angeles Knight Riders Captain): "We did well to keep them under 190. It was a good wicket. Probably, we could have done a bit better. Maybe we could have kept them down to 15 runs less. It was a gettable score.

We need to asses the conditions much better. We need to take responsibility and not lose wickets in clusters.

Hopefully, they (West Indies players who are in Ireland) will be here before the next game. Quality batters. Hopefully, we can keep bowling the way we havebeen  bowling and do a little better with the bat."
5:59 AM IST, 5:29 PM local time: The Oakland Coliseum reverberates with the sound of whistles as jubilant Super Kings fans celebrate what has been a comprehensive victory. TSK win by 57 runs.

On a ground which has seen multiple scores of 200+ and a speedy, under-14 overs chase of 140-odd in the season, TSK are making a habit of defending 180s. Perhaps, it is the Noor Ahmad element that makes their 180-odd as good as 200. Today, once again, the wrist spinner sparkled with a stupendous return of 4/25. His victims included heavyweights Russel and Narine — both dismissed in the same over.

While Noor was the headline act, let us not forget that drool-worthy opening burst from Adam Milne. He bowled with finesse, got the ball to move at pace and squared up batters several times. He finished with 2/8 off his 3.1 overs. Amidst those impressive performances from the two international cricketers, a lesser-known player grabbed everyone's attention too. On debut, Stephen Wiig was hammered for successive sixes off his first two balls but he dismissed Alex Hales off his third, making up a wholesome moment that the fans won't forget for a while. In the end, this bowling proved to be too good for the Knight Riders, who never really seemed to be in the contest during the second innings of the match. Matthew Tromp's impressive shot-making and Shadley van Schalkwyk cameo at the end were the only positives for them.

Earlier, TSK's sedate start might have raised a few eyebrows. The circumspect approach that their openers adopted had only yielded a score of 27/1 off the first four overs. However, things started to change quickly when Saiteja Mukkamalla arrived at the crease. The 21-year-old hit three clean sixes and a couple of crisp fours to provide the impetus that the innings needed. But the spinners pulled things back once again in the middle overs. While Narine did what he always does — ambled through his four overs giving away very little — it was Tanveer Sangha's delectable spell of classical leg spin that stole the limelight. The Aussie returned 2/32 off his four overs.

Apart from the aforementioned contributions, Donovan Ferreira's 16-ball-32 was another vital one for the Super Kings. Daryll Mitchell played a scratchy knock of 36* but more than made up for it in the second half. He got Unmukt Chand out bowled and then, took a couple of good catches to dismiss Russell and Narine.
