That is all we have got from the first game of the doubleheader. San Francisco Unicorns are here with a mission and are desperate to go one step further than the previous season. We have the second game of the day starting at the same venue between Seattle Orcas and Washington Freedom. Switch tabs for the live action!
For now, this is me, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Ajay Pal Singh and scorer/analyst, Vishnu Verma, who brought you all the live action of this fixture. We will meet again. Until then, it is cheers!
Corey Anderson (San Francisco Unicorns Captain): "Yeah, it was a clinical performance. It was a good wicket. Slightly different to the wicket than the one that we got for the first game. It was slightly holding up. A few deliveries were sticking on the wicket, but nothing much. Our batters figured out quickly and tackled it nicely. They came to us and told about the pitch.
Jake was smart. He is a good ball striker. He batted brilliantly. He is such a clean striker of the ball. Good to see him getting amongst the runs. Finn Allen also batted well. It was great to see them both going well.
Rauf stepped up again and bowled well on the big stage. Happy to see everyone chipping in."
Jake Fraser-McGurk (POTM): "Yeah, obviously, it has been a while since I got a fifty in this format or any other format. Contributing to the team was good. I am happy. A few of the shots felt good.
Yeah, can't thank him (coach) enough. We have been working together on new process. Quite lucky that there are no bigger boundaries here and good conditions to bat. A few of them just cleared the field."
Player of the Match: Jake Fraser-McGurk
Play of the Day: Haris Rauf
Power Hitter of the Match: Finn Allen
6:25 AM IST and 5:55 PM Local Time: We are ready with the post-match ceremony...
Sunil Narine (Los Angeles Knight Riders Captain): "I think they got off to a good start, we pulled things back nicely in the end. Lovely death bowling from Russ and Ali. We needed to have a good powerplay and see where it goes from there.
We need to work on executions. At this venue, you need to nail your yorkers, especially the wide ones. I think we did well in the last 5 overs of the first innings.
We have experienced guys. It is just about applying ourselves. No need to think too much and we need to play freely. (Dwayne Bravo) He's a champion, he has a lot of knowledge, guys do ask him a lot of questions and it is about executing in the middle."
