India deliver a swag performance at Bellerive Oval to hand Australia their first defeat in Hobart in the shortest format!!! The hosts felt Josh Hazlewood's absence as their bowling took a proper hammering from every Indian batter in a big run chase. India won the toss and that was the big plus point for SKY. The pitch got better for batting as the game progressed. India made 3 changes after that thumping at MCG, and all three of them put on a show to shatter Australia's unbeaten run at this venue.

Arshdeep picked up three wickets, Sundar hit a match-winning 49*, and Jitesh gave the finishing touches. The action moves to Queensland for the last two matches of the series, with Gold Coast hosting the 4th T20I on Thursday.

For now, this is me, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash, scorer Raju Khariya and statistician Aman. We will meet again. Until then, it is cheers!!!

Suryakumar Yadav (India Captain): "It was really important to win the toss. Good to break the streak, and I’m very happy with the way we played. There were good contributions from everyone — both with the ball and the bat.

I’m really pleased to be on the winning side. Those guys have been practicing hard and waiting for their opportunity, and I think this was a very good combination. With Washi going up the order — he’s such a flexible batter — and Jitesh, who’s been doing that role for India for the last two or three years, it was a great performance from all three of them.

I think both of them make a really lethal combination. It’s like how Shubman and Abhishek are — fire and ice. It’s the same with Bumrah and Arshdeep; they complement each other perfectly. They’ve played a lot of cricket together, and Bumrah just goes about his work quietly. Even today, he bowled four overs for just 25 runs — he did his job brilliantly. Arshdeep is contributing well from his end too, very clear with his plans. Hopefully, he continues this form — it’ll be great for the team. Going into the next game with the series level at 1-1 and heading to an unknown destination, I think it’ll be an exciting one."
Mitchell Marsh (Australia Captain): "Yeah, we probably felt we were about 20 runs short when we came off, but credit to them — they bowled really well, and we did everything we could. We gave it our all in the field, but they were just too good tonight.

The key takeaway is that we need those extra 20 runs, and we’ve got to find a way to get them on days like this. But I loved our intent — we stayed true to our style of play. I thought the way Tim David batted after we lost two wickets in the powerplay was outstanding. There are always things to learn from games like these, but as we know, the margins in T20 cricket are really small.

I thought Stoinis and Short batted really well. Stoinis, in particular, showed his experience after we lost a few wickets through the middle — his ability to keep going and finish the innings for us was impressive. There are still a lot of positives to take away. It’s 1-1 with two games to play, so we’re in a good place.

(On Maxwell) We were hoping he’d be ready today, but he just wasn’t quite there yet. If everything goes to plan, he’ll be back soon. He obviously brings a wealth of experience in T20 cricket, so if he’s fit, we’ll definitely have him back."
Arshdeep Singh (POTM): "I’ve just been working on the process, trusting my skills, and focusing on execution. I feel there’s always a chance when someone is coming after you, especially with Bumrah bowling from the other end — it adds to the pressure on the batters.

They know they can’t take many chances against him, so they go after me, and that gives me opportunities to take wickets as well. It’s fun — I really enjoy playing for India. Whenever I get the chance to bowl, I just try to enjoy myself, keep my plans simple, and focus on execution."
