The group stage of the Caribbean Premier League is over. After the 30 matches in this stage. St Lucia Kings, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Trinbago Knight Riders and Antigua & Barbuda Falcons have qualified for the play-off stage. Guyana Amazon Warriors were at the fourth position and today's victory by 64-run margin has propelled them to the second position of the points table. Now they will come back in three days time for the first Qualifier at this very venue.

For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshaya Krishna Polya and the scorer/analyst of this match Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. Have a good day!
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "Thank you very much. Quite pleased with that [On finishing in the top two position of the points table]. I have been saying that we were not playing our top cricket but still we managed to finish in the top. Today we bowled them out. Really pleased with the boys.

[About the opening position] It seems like it is all sorted. We asked Sampson to do the job for us. He had his own plans and stepped up at the right moment. He was waiting for this opportunity badly. Appreciate him for the job he has done so far.

[Shamar Joseph] I think he is good and strong enough to cope with that. Happy to see him come and bowl. It was necessary for him to bowl quick in front of his home crowd. Can't take Motie away. A fifer is always a special one. Big congrats to him.

Brilliant from Hettie. You want the guys who has a big heart and steps up. Hetmyer is a senior guy and has played cricket all over the world. We expect him to do well.

Yes ready for the challenge. St Lucia Kings is a good team. The boys will get two to three days of recovery before that. Looking forward to the challenge."
Rovman Powell (Barbados Royals Captain): "It's been a disappointing season. We could've done better. Somedays we played good cricket but luck was not in our favour. We didn't find ourselves on the winning end for much long.

In a season of ten games, if you drop thirty catches it will cost you big time. We are disappointed as players. I hope the fans stick to us. Hopefully in a year or two, they will find us on the winning way."
Shimron Hetmyer (POTM): "Honestly speaking, it's a testament to my support system. My wife really pulled me through after yesterday. She was really there for me, and we prayed about it. She said I can do something for the team. I'm happy that I could actually do something for the team this time.

Honestly, I was trying to give myself a couple of balls more. I had three ducks in a row. So, I was trying to get a single first, not to go for big shots in a row. But after that, I was trying to play my strong shots for as long as possible. As the game progressed, I just tried to hit as many boundaries as I possibly could towards the end.

It's always nice playing at home. Hopefully, in a few days' time, we can come again and replicate the same performance. I thought the ball was going to go over my head for six. So, I'm happy that I actually got my balance right, turned back, and caught it to complete it cleanly.

It's always nice to have two chances. Nice to be finishing in the top two. The job is not over yet; it's only now beginning. We won't take it easy. We have some crucial games to go. So we're trying to play as few games as possible. We're just taking it one game at a time, and it starts with the St Lucia Kings in Qualifier 1. We will go back, relax a bit and have a game plan and come back. I'm looking forward to that."

QUALIFIER 1
- Saint Lucia Kings vs Guyana Amazon Warriors
8:07 AM IST and 10:37 PM Local Time : Guyana Amazon Warriors have treated the Barbados Royals with utter disdain and obliterated them to clinch a victory by a colossal margin of 64 runs. Gudakesh Motie took his first T20 fifer, Shimron Hetmyer and Quentin Sampson registered twin half-centuries and a complete team effort from the hosts have given them the victory.

Rovman Powell won the toss and sent the Warriors to bat first. Quentin Sampson once again showed his big hitting prowess coming to open the innings. Despite losing McDermott early, Sampson's partnership with Shai Hope kept the Warriors in the hunt. Shai Hope scored 31 off just 19 balls before getting out and then Hetmyer joined Sampson.

Sampson and Hetmyer were brilliant in their stay and added 50 runs in 32 balls. Sampson scored 50 in 35 balls but in the next ball, he was dismissed by Sherfane Rutherford. But Hetmyer took the charge from him. Hetmyer hit 8 fours and 3 maximums on his way to score 68 off 39 balls and some late impetus from Romario Shepherd propelled the Amazon Warriors to 189/6 at the end of their 20th over.

For the Barbados Royals, Sherfane Rutherford took 2 wickets for 35 runs. Ramon Simmonds, Daniel Sams and Zishan Motara took one wicket each.

Coming to chase the run, Barbados Royals lost their openers Kadeem Alleyne and Quinton de Kock and Shamar Joseph cleaned up Rassie van der Dussen to reduce them to 28/3. Shaqkere Parris and Sherfane Rutherford were out in the middle. They struggled to time the ball and the longevity of their struggle outplayed the Royals from the game. They together played 46 balls but scored only 55 in their partnership. Rutherford was going slow and just when he started to find the timing, Shamar Joseph trapped him at the middle-leg stump line on his personal score of 27 off 32.

That dismissal opened the floodgates for the Royals. The inevitable disaster started haunting them as they lost Rovman Powell (1), Shaqkere Parris (15) and Daniel Sams (1) in a very short time interval. They were reduced to 88/7 from 83/3 and the match became a mere formality then. Kofi James swung his bat and hit 3 fours and a maximum to score 26 runs off 13 balls. He reduced the margin of defeat to 64 runs as Barbados Royals got bundled out for 125.

Gudakesh Motie wrapped the innings up with two consecutive wickets and finished with 5/21. He took his first fifer in T20 cricket. Shamar Joseph and Dwaine Pretorius took a couple of wickets each. Imran Tahir took a wicket also.
