It has been a game for the ages, and the context makes it even more special! Guyana Amazon Warriors were not in the best position when they had given away a 185 in the first innings. Roston Chase was phenomenal with the bat. His 90 were the key to fantastic first innings for the St. Lucia Kings! The Amazon Warriors kept it tight but a few lapses in the middle overs allowed the score to go past 180.
GAW haven't batted well in their last two games, and it was going to be a big chase. However, Quentin Sampson had different ideas. He was clinical from ball one! He wanted to make a statement, and he kept on smashing everything that way came his way! His 76 off 39 balls was absolute gold in the chase. Hope held one end for a while before he himself got going.
However, wickets kept on falling after Sampson was dismissed. Chase was at it again with ball this time! The good part though was that every batter at least hit a boundary in between those wickets to be with the scoring rate. Hassan Khan, Romario Shepherd, Moeen Ali, Dwayne Pretorius! All four batters hit boundaries at crucial junctures!
Finally, it was Pretorius who showed calm when it came down to 4 off 1! A big strike and that has taken the Guyana Amazon Warriors into the playoffs!
