WHAT A NAIL BITER HAVE WE WITNESSED IN GUYANA! My fingers are sore but who complaints when you get a thriller like this. The sport is known for making our hearts beat faster and we have accepted it with a smile now! The ones smiling now, in fact showing beaming smiles are the Guyana Amazon Warriors! They have kept their record of not losing three on the bounce in CPL cricket ALIVE! They pounce into the playoffs and getting over a game like this is a massive confidence booster!

This is it from us today! I, Manan Mehta, your mate for the day signs off on behalf of my co commentator Saptak Sanyal. A shoutout to our scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal as well. Some really big games headlined for Sunday! See ya then!
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "Very happy to get over the line. We gave too many runs away. 30 extra but happy that the boys pulled it! Sampson is a confident kid, and he showed it today.

Big opportunity for him and he has taken it with both hands. Ideally, we want to finish in the top 2. We haven't played our best cricket right through.

But today we showed that we can win such matches and hopefully we add more to this."
David Wiese (St Lucia Kings Captain): "Obviously disappointed. I think that's the margin of the game. One ball's error can go wrong for you.

Yes happy for Ackeem. He has delivered when it was expected from him. Special mentions should go to Roston Chase. He has showed why he is one of the premier players in the world.

I know Pretorius from a long time. It is always difficult when somebody gets one over on you but he has been in these situations before where he was at the receiving end. At the end of the day, we are all competitors and want to win it for our team.

A fantastic campaign for us. You know a lot of positives but there's also a lot of places where we can do well. Play-offs are coming. We will get two opportunities most probably and we have to comeback stronger."
Quentin Sampson (Player of the Match): "First of all I want to thank god for the opportunity.

The coach said that "I want a win from you". I just went out and stayed positive and waited for my balls. I tried to be a bit smart. I tried to choose the bowlers and choose the shots.

It all started for me a few years ago at a small town. I didn't think that I would belong to this level.

Last night coach talked to me and said that I want to give you an opportunity. Play freely. I hit the boundary off the first ball and things went beautifully."

2:38 PM Local Time, 12:08 AM IST: OHH MY WORD, WHAT HAS GUYANA JUST WITNESSED FROM THEIR TEAM? MAGIC? WELL, IT DOES EXIST IN THIS SPORT! PRETORIUS WITH THAT HIT MAKES THE GUYANA AMAZON WARRIORS LIVE TO SEE ANOTHER DAY!

It has been a game for the ages, and the context makes it even more special! Guyana Amazon Warriors were not in the best position when they had given away a 185 in the first innings. Roston Chase was phenomenal with the bat. His 90 were the key to fantastic first innings for the St. Lucia Kings! The Amazon Warriors kept it tight but a few lapses in the middle overs allowed the score to go past 180.

GAW haven't batted well in their last two games
, and it was going to be a big chase. However, Quentin Sampson had different ideas. He was clinical from ball one! He wanted to make a statement, and he kept on smashing everything that way came his way! His 76 off 39 balls was absolute gold in the chase. Hope held one end for a while before he himself got going.

However, wickets kept on falling after Sampson was dismissed. Chase was at it again with ball this time! The good part though was that every batter at least hit a boundary in between those wickets to be with the scoring rate. Hassan Khan, Romario Shepherd, Moeen Ali, Dwayne Pretorius! All four batters hit boundaries at crucial junctures!

Finally, it was Pretorius who showed calm when it came down to 4 off 1! A big strike and that has taken the Guyana Amazon Warriors into the playoffs!
